Mozilla is so smart it's protecting me from filling out the form. (Actually it's probably just a problem with the web page.)
Anyway, why would any company need someone's online banking login and password? Sheesh, I really hope no one was stupid enough to fall for this thing. Then again, probably a lot of people have.
Of course, if 95% of people used OS X instead of Windows, more virii and what not would be written for OS X and more vulnerabilities would be discovered, etc.
If only 1 person drove a Pinto, we might have never found out the problems with it. Since so many people drove them, the serious problems quickly became evident. It's the same kinda thing with operating systems. The more they're used, the easier it is to find vulnerabilities.
There's parts of it that are meant for children; it's kind of like the opposite of kid shows. The main focus is adults, but there's enough in there too keep the kids entertained. In kid shows the main focus is children, but there's always a few jokes or subplots above the kids heads that will entertain the parents.
Anyone who thinks that The Simpsons is a kids cartoon hasn't gone through puberty yet.
Of course, just being somewhere doesn't prove anything. If a guy's wife is killed in his house, his DNA is going to be all over the place; so they won't prove anything. Heck, they'd probably find his DNA on her even if he hadn't had contact with her in a few days. If they find his DNA on the murder weapon or something; that's a different story; but sucking up everything in site and seeing who was there doesn't always tell you much.
There are other news sources out there, you just have to find them. The major news outlets are more entertainment sources than anything. Their biggest concern is how to make the most money, not how to reveal the truth to the public. Therefore, if they had presented us with an anti-war stance; their station would have lost a lot of viewers, and consequently advertising money would be pulled; etc.
Try NPR or international news sources that are less biased towards the United States and you'll find a completely different point of view. It is often refreshing to hear something different.
Also, MSNBC has been known on many occasions to criticize Microsoft and give them bad press; so don't assume that MS tells them or other news outlets what to say.
There are some Lexmark printers currently on the market that can be obtained for less than the ink cartridges can. Thus, it is cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy replacement ink. There HAS to be something wrong with that.
The constitution says: The Congress shall have power to . . . promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries.
I fail to see how preventing others from making ink cartridges promotes the progress of science and useful arts, therefore this should not fall under federal copyright law.
How is it a joke? I am questioning how technology has truly made things better. Can I not question my government while using my right to free speech given to me by that same government? Then why is it so funny to you to question technology while making use of it?
Please teach me the great things that technology, etc. have given humanity and how we are so much better off than those who do not have such great things?
Humans are making themselves extinct a lot faster than we're forgetting our old languages.
Since I would consider myself an "eco-nut" I guess from your words, I would have to say that this is a pointless crusade. It doesn't matter to me whether or not we know what's in Yucca in 100,000 years, because unless there is a radical change in human perspective about the world, there won't be humans to go exploring there anyway.
I don't know why I even bothered replying to you, when you obviously feel that people living in "tribes" are inferior and "stupid". Grow up.
You'd be guilty of neglect. Just like the homeowner with the pool that gets sued for not having it covered when the neighbor kid drowns in it. You should have kept your computer more secure.
As I see you are somewhat responsible, but not as responsible as the person doing the actual damage.
I still can't figure out what brilliant person decided to name a Christian organization "Campus Crusades for Christ." Do they not understand the images that the word 'crusades' puts in to people's minds? Ugh.
A research study showed that very people actually know that humans are animals. It's because we're always taught that we're so much better than the other animals, that we forget we're animals too.
My father was in New Zealand in the 70s while in the Navy. (No guns in New Zealand). He said the papers always had reports of people knifing each other to death.
Take away all of our weapons and we'll still have our bare hands. If we want to hurt somebody bad enough we will.
I always found the "Sue the crap out of the competition" corporate strategy to be very successful. Look at everyone that is using it lately.
Actually I just accidently replied to the wrong comment.
Just because Linux users install Windows to play certain games doesn't mean that Windows users will install Linux to play certain games.

I want to reply because I have a semi-low user ID too.
Anyway, Slashdot has definitely gone down hill in recent years. I don't bother commenting or reading comments anymore, just stories.

Or develop new skills and abandon the past?

Also, every Ford automobile ad must include a picture of the Pinto and a detailed account of the entire incident including graphic photos.

Ever heard of 'no-till'? Not everyone tills the soil after harversting each year.

More importantly, would it matter if it works?
Even if you were drafted, you can still say no. What's worse, sitting in prison, or doing something you don't believe in?

So what is it that people are reading into that that I'm not seeing? I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

Nah, it's all just coincidence. =]
There are countless tales of floods; I would find it very hard to believe it is not true. =]
