  10. Commonplace in britain on "Smart" Parking Meters Considered Dumb · · Score: 0

This type of system seems pretty commonplace in Britain, in both onstreet and car park situations, at one time a local hospital even had the system. Admittedly in my area at least on street parking is only about 6 parking spaces long, but even so this pay and display system just works.

  14. Technical proficiency on 13-Year-Old Trades iPod For a Walkman For a Week · · Score: 1

It seems to me that the only thing proven on this exercise is that iPods are simpler to use than tapes only. I say this on the basis that I am only 2 years older, and if I questioned myself or many of my associates, almost 100% would know, and understand about settings and sides on cassette tapes. So the only other conclusion I can seem to draw is that a gap of 2 years was the time it took for tapes to vanish almost permanently.

  18. Re:Meh on The Hard Drive Is Inside the Computer · · Score: 1

Small problem with that, you cannot send a link to someone with a broken computer (which if they are having problems, being non technical, is highly faulty in their opinion), unless they have another, but then they would not be overly concerned to repair it. If that made sense.
