  1. or do it because its the right thing? on Microsoft Offered $40 a Share For Yahoo · · Score: 1

Yahoo isn't going away. Its better for everyone in the long haul in terms of overall wealth creation to have both Yahoo and Microsoft alive. If you don't like it, hedge and buy both stocks. I'm sick of seeing investors want money NOW, and so they kill their golden goose. But these days its not surprising.

  3. I want this on Time Warner Cable Tries Metering Internet Use · · Score: 0, Troll

I have Cox cable and I don't need the 6 down/2 up speed. I don't surf porn, I don't use Limewire. I read email, I check Slashdot and Fark, and read news. At the same time, I don't want to suffer with 640kbps DSL. Why can't I buy a 2mbps/512mbps package for $20 a month?

My email is filtered for PPI and dirty words, but you don't filter my Gmail.
I can't FTP, but I can attach 10 MB files to webmails.

The solution is to maintain a series of flat-file or relational DBs locally for every host on the Internet. Periodically, you should be able to do an FTP or similar of the latest master file, and place it on your local nameservers or hosts. Its the only way to be sure.
