  1. ROOOOFFLLE on Another Critical Microsoft Hole · · Score: 1

Hold on, if I keep laughing any more, I think I am going to choke. MAN IS THIS FUCKING HILLARIOUS. This is almost like the time my freind poured lighter fluid on his pants and lit himself on fire. When his balls started heating up, he screamed for someone to kick him in the nuts to put it out. They did, and after three or four stomps it went out.

Moral of the story(intented to microsoft), DO NOT LIGHT YOUR OWN NUTS ON FIRE. IT GOES DOWNHILL FROM THERE

  2. Re:Walmart "computers" on Slashback: Newton, Wal-Mart, Eats · · Score: 1

big brand name computers in my expericance always perform WORSE.

The only way to get good hardware is to build it yourself, or buy it from someone who built it from commecially available parts. Factory made is always a gyp, unless they use brand name parts. But most of the time when they use no-name, or manifacture their own parts, they are terrible quality. The only mega-company that doesn't do this is IBM. While IBM is pricey, there hardware is usually good, but usually not worth the money.

here are some of the biggest perps:

Compaq- WORST BUY, compaq machines are known for making proprietary hardware, and shitloads of Terminate and stay resident progs on boot. They never go 6 months without a hardware prob.,
Dell- propreitary parts again. They aslo refuse to ship with AMDs, and their tech support is a bitch, they are better than compaq but not as good as home made

AST - out of buisness, but another shitty computer co. Second rate parts, and mediocrisy enshrouds the comany. Used no name parts.

But then again, I don't know anything about Japan today.

NO SHIT SHERLOCK. Boy the people who run slashdot must spend their life in a closet. The best bands are not signed. Most of the shit I listen to is from bands not on an RIAA company. Don't any of you listen to ANY alt/goth/punk/rock/etc... If you did, you would know this. EVEN IF YOU KNEW VERY LITTLE ABOUT IT. Also, mp3.com has tons of unsigned bands with free mp3s, as they have for YEARS, so does iuma.com, audiogalaxy, etc...

This is fucking old news, whoever oked this for the main page is a fucking retard, who never did his homework up until now. the RIAA controls the radio waves and MTV so nothing non-RIAA will ever be played on commerical radio/MTV. But there are still big "underground"(non RIAA) bands,(dead kennedys for example)
