Over two years ago, MS started breaking Windows 7 with "security updates" that were really just preparing the OS for an upgrade. I was able to roll back the updates and even disabled future updates, but that poses security issues.
I let it upgrade to Windows 10 to see how that looked.
So Linux it is. Using Mint Cinnamon and don't care what happens in the MS world anymore.

My CPU is: Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30Ghz
Updated my Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64 bit this afternoon and all is well after reboot.
Ran sysbench tests on CPU and File IO before and after and noticed no difference.
I went from a Samsung S4 to an LG G6 and it has a working FM radio as long as the headphones are plugged in.
LG isn't Apple by any stretch, but it's still pretty big.
I burned the last two releases to CD only to find they won't boot on real hardware so I could run them "live". Maybe I should wait for version 1 to try that again?

I bought a external USB floppy drive and am able to boot the computer from it. Either I got lucky or it's pretty much standard.
