I am not a Bush basher or an Obama apologist, but Bush started the whole thing. By stating, "However, because Americans allowed Washington (and Barack Hussein Obama) to effectively nationalize GM", you ignore the fact that Bush started the bailout nonsense. True that Obama has taken it to a whole new level, but he sure didn't start it. Of course, one could look back several years at the first bailout of Chrysler as the starting point, but that was a different situation, and Chrysler paid the loan off. I see no reason to believe that the banks or car companies will ever pay back any of this money. Americans don't necessarily fear working for these other countries' companies, and Americans didn't nationalize the car companies, the Government made the mess, and the companies are not nationalized - the Government does not own them.

Maybe, but it is a cool gadget, and people like cool gadgets. Even if someone rides it for entertainment, there's nothing wrong with that. Some people think riding a bicycle is fun, and they do it because they like it. I enjoy it occasionally, but I'd rather ride my motorcycle. I'll find exercise elsewhere.

You are absolutely correct! This is a disgusting waste of automobiles and of tax payer money. I can't afford to buy a new car right now anyway, and I can't take advantage of the cash for clunkers deal either. I have a 1997 Jeep that doesn't qualify, and a 2004 Jeep that does. The 1997 is worth less than the $4500 allotment, and the 2004 is worth more. I also owe a lot on the 2004, so $4500 rebate and no trade in allotment kills that deal.

Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper supposedly coined that phrase. From my experience it is a VERY overused and abused idea. Sometimes one needs to make a difficult decision, and sure, if it needs to be made, make it and ask for forgiveness later if necessary. However, everytime I've heard it used was by someone wanting to do something they shouldn't do, and they use that phrase to justify their actions. I'm sure Jeff is only sorry for the ill will it is causing with his customers.

It is difficult to enjoy multiplayer games when one has to buy more than one copy for the same household. My son and I used to play a lot of RTS over the LAN because we didn't have to have but one copy of the game. Unfortunately those days are over, so we don't play any games over the LAN now. Fortunately there is XBox live and we can play those games with only one copy on the 360. The downside is we can't play against each other, only cooperative play against others.
