We're always still fighting for our civil liberties and freedoms. Like being allowed to marry who you want and that sort of thing.
And trotting out that 3000 americans (and some non americans, who are still people) died on September 11th, 2001 doesn't sway me to the big brother argument. I'm not belittling the tragedy of that day, but 3725 people died in 2002 in traffic accidents in Texas alone. Why not clamor to have the government take your car away to make you safer?
So yes, I'm saying that giving the government a little more leeway is not worth it. A lot more than 3000 people have died defending the the constitution and contract we the people have with our government and eroding that contract is a dishonor to them and the foundations the United States is built on.
It's not that complicated. Most movie houses have a central projection room and they string the film from one projector to another, so that you're lagging behind the other theater by a few seconds, but it for all intents and purposes (or intenstive purposes for you diehard slashdotters) it's a simultaneous viewing.
Absolutely. It's been fastest way for me to get Red Orchestra and several other huge Unreal mods. The "make something unreal" contest has created a whole mini release cycle for mods, with it's deadlines and lure of cash prizes. So all of a sudden there's 4-5gb of files worth downloading all at once and all manner of choked up servers.
Bit torrent, however can serve up the 400+ mb file within an hour and the developers can just set up the link to the seed from their site. It carries an air of legitimacy greater than you can achieve by saying "or look for the file on eMule".
The new spider-man game is going to be like that. There's street level crime (literally, you don't just fall and die in the mysterious fog anymore) and you can take missions that progress the story, or just smack around thugs. I'd assume it comes out this summer after the movie, but if that's the sort of game you're looking for, keep an eye on the E3 coverage.
I think you'd lose that dollar. James Dickey, the author of the novel and the screenplay was, by all accounts, a two fisted, two war (WWII and Korea) veteran from the south. So I don't think the point of the inbred rednecks was to get revenge on them for making him feel like less of a real man.
I also don't think the rednecks are portrayed as "fags" but as scary, violent rapists. Having just seen it for the first time, it's more of a horror movie than anything else.
I agree entirely that a reoccurring theme in the film is the softness of modern life vs. the rugged individualism of the past.
Thank you and thank you again.
I have an old classic II in the attic that I'm too lazy to turn into an acquarium, but using it as a bong is stupid easy.
I see more of a hukkah type of affair though, perhaps using the mouse as a mouthpiece.
My girlfriend took a jewlery making class with a couple who were there to make their wedding rings. It works well as a bonding experience and as learning a new set of skills. And really, you get to buy torches and anvils and stuff.

Crate puzzles
Sure, if you're the kind of guy who also prefers The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies over Yojimbo.

and the price of liberty is eternal moderation (and meta moderation)
Woo has never, ever, ever, ever worked with Jackie Chan.
Yes he has.
It's all about salesmanship.
I sold 4 to a family of tiny Eskimos last week.

Maybe that's why I liked Diaspora so much, for a while some of the characters go 5 dimensional and start moving in ways that'll give you a headache.
and about burning yourself from sitting too close to the monitor
Bigger still, pop a projector in your trunk and show it on the road behind you.
yeah, but it's only coming out on the phantom
Two: It goes: Fool me once...Shame on...Shame on you...Fool me...Can't get fooled again.

So really, thanks.
