You seem to be right, AC... Well, Mandrake's site doesn't seem to have a changelog for either RC then. Presumably they're just bugfixes of the betas; I don't know Mandrakesoft's feature freeze policy but features aren't generally added to release candidates...

    - Complete rewrite of userdrake (user management) in Gtk2
    - New bootsplash (graphical boot) with graphical design not completed
    - Improved localization
    - New font support for Indian

This is correct. As soon as you download the first chunk of the file (256KB-1MB) you start uploading what you've downloaded so far to other clients. BitTorrent works on a file-per-file basis, unlike more traditional P2P apps.

Sure you can, just use Romeo format for long filenames instead of Joliet. Adaptec EZ-CD 95 supported this format, but doesn't run on anything newer than Windows 95. NTI CD-Maker supports the Romeo format, and if it doesn't support your CD-R drive, you can always make an ISO with NTI CD-Maker and burn it with your preferred utility (I used to do this with my old CD-R drive). The Romeo format supports filenames of up to 255 characters, and is readable on Win95 & up and Linux, but supposedly isn't readable on DOS. Romeo format discs work with my MP3 CD player, and I've had no problems with them at all. I even made some Romeo format DVD-Rs, and these worked great, even though they probably violate all sorts of specs.

This often causes problems on BitTorrent circles (and I would say it's biggest problem) to where people need other users to "re-seed" the file, or re-open the file on the network so users can download segments they didn't complete. So, in theory, only popular torrents work. If you have a website where you place your home-made MP3's up for download, via BitTorrent, and only a few people download them, then you'll have to "seed" that torrent forever, because the users downloading them stop sharing them by default after they finish the transfer.

Yes, but compare using BitTorrent to using pure HTTP or FTP distribution -- in both cases you need to continuously upload, but with BitTorrent your downloaders upload as well. Even a BitTorrent downloader with a fast download speed and a slow or limited upload capacity contributes positively when compared to pure HTTP or FTP distribution. Versus HTTP, BitTorrent wins.
