The fact that these corporations just don't want to accept is that their business model is crumbling before their very eyes. No matter what your opinion on pirating is, it is nearly impossible to stop it. The world is changing and the big record labels and movie studios are becoming obsolete very very quickly. There is no turning back. The corporate fat cats either need to find a way to adapt to the changing environment of digital distribution (although I honestly don't have a good idea of how) or they will fall. In my opinion, the money they have been squandering on pointless lawsuits and proverbial dead horse beating would be much better spent on gathering those that a much more intelligent than they are and having them come up with a new model that might work in todays society. This is more than a few bad apples stealing, there are housewives and grandmothers hitting the pirate bay. It isn't going to change, so the industry is going to have to.
You know, I've wondered that myself. I guess it is because it is pre-production beta. I would have thought it would at least be white. Eh, beggars can't be choosers.
Geeze! This is apparently what I get for trying to be funny around here. Some of you really need to stop taking yourselves so seriously. It isn't good for the psyche.
I don't know why exactly but I really really want one myself. I registered for the pilot program, but at this point I think I just need to get in touch with one of the Google people and offer a hand job. I really have hit gadget rock bottom... is there a 12 step program or something?
No kidding! I live in PA and it is a real PITA for a responsible adult to pick up an adult beverage. Now let's look at the bigger picture, has it done anything to curb underage drinking, or drinking in excess? From my own personal experiences in the past that would be a big resounding NO! All the policies that are in place only serve to inconvenience those who seek to legally obtain alcohol. Hell, when I was 16 it was easier to get booze. All you had to do was show up at that one certain friend's house.... everyone had one of those friends.
But if you look at they keyboard it has a led to indicate shift. I have to assume it is there to indicate a caps lock function, perhaps by using a double shift or some type of keyboard shortcut. I doubt they would put a led indicator there only to have it light when you press the shift key. I could be wrong though, dumber things have happened.
Sadly, yes. Advertisers just don't understand that most people simply ignore the commercials no matter how loud they are. It is a good time to take a piss or make a sandwich, nothing more.
I'm not sure what hair brained idiot decided to try to shock potential customers in to paying attention by jacking up the volume, but for some evil hellish reason it caught on, and when advertisers latch on to some idea it actually does take an act of congress to make them change their ways.
Just my 2 cents.
You would think the udders would have given it away. It is always funny when someone makes up some totally off the wall story to explain why they did something. And why drown the cow? What a waste of perfectly good beef!
I couldn't agree more. We have a "club" here that wouldn't let me in because I was wearing a flannel shirt. Chances are, I wouldn't have enjoyed my experience anyway.
That's one way of dealing with that pesky eminent domain thing. I can't wait till we see someone doing this in the US when the state wants to build a new highway.
How could it POSSIBLY be a bad thing to offer someone a chance to see what they have been missing? This is one of the dumbest concerns I think I have ever read! People are not going to be forced to undergo the procedure so the moral aspect is kind of a non-issue. As for the "where does it stop" argument, that has always been a bullshit excuse to disagree with something you might slightly disagree with. The even funnier part of that is that the examples that are listed are usually mostly unrelated to the argument at hand. So being someone who IS red-green color blind you ask if I want to see what I've been missing... HELL YEAH!
They are but it still isn't 100% safe it eat them at less than 165 degrees. Some microbes can grow in refrigerated conditions, just at a slower rate....... Damn ServSafe certification!
Gee thanks for calling me out. I never would have figured out I was an idiot on my own. Thank you so much for taking the time to show me the light on my own stupidity. I love when cowards take time out of their busy schedules of playing WOW and wiping the pizza and Coke drippings from their chins to help a lost sheep wander away from things they don't understand. If your not gonna play nice don't get in the fucking sandbox.
-1 flamebait... I'm waiting.
First off... first post!
Second, we ubuntu users have been able to customize our desktop through themes as long as gnome has been around. There are many ways to slap some eye-candy onto you GUI if you choose, but I for one am glad to see a new look. I think ubuntu needs to look fresh for the less techie out there. People are very visual weather they want to admit it or not.
I do like the ball-kicking error idea, but be careful which one you use. Windows can be testy and the last thing you need unprovoked genital damage when you are trying to fix a workstation.
Who could have ever pegged Bill Freaking Gates as a ruthless opportunist? Who exactly thinks this is news?
I'm going to go trademark "grocery store" now. Piss off, Apple!
I have the same problem, inconsiderate deaf neighbors.... well that and god-damned stumble upon!
We'll go with "Linux based." It is built upon a modified version of the Linux kernel.

It's better than "burning your bra" I suppose.
To get fireworks and cheeper smokes. I never understood how PA can sell fireworks.. to out of state patrons, however people of PA cannot buy them?
Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? That's my state for you!

This picture someone made says it all: http://www.thebuzzmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/why-people-pirate-movies-steps-to-watching-video.jpg

Hey, a small step in the right direction is still a step.

If they start offering courses in how to rock a french manicure I'm moving to England!

awww isn't that cute. I'm happy I could give you something to do tonight. Boredom is a bitch, and I am the cure.
