The only reason you need a Dr prescription is that they were able to lobby to make it a requirement because they were losing so much contact business from 1800 contacts. Now they've managed to require contacts have a 1 year expiration to make you go toss $100 each year to get a new prescription.
I just pay for a 6-month supply of monthly contacts and then wear them 2-3 months each, making them last at least a year. I had one eye infection about 15 years ago in high school, but other than that no issues. And that's with regularly sleeping in them as well. I take them out for maybe 1 weekend every 2 months or so to let my eyes rest and breathe.
I really enjoyed the new movies as well. My only problem with the story in TFA was that I could not believe that the remnants of the empire were so utterly stupid. The rebels destroyed not one, but two Death Stars. Their master plan is to build a third, even bigger one?
More than that, they've build a machine that eats stars to fire it's weapon. You know what would be far more reliable and terrifying? Flying your planet into the target system, setting up a lawn chair, grabbing some popcorn and enjoying the show while you eat their star! No firing required. And you could prevent an escape while you're there.
Don't forget the ridiculousness that was the Rebellion (or sorry, Resistance now, right?) sending what, about a dozen X-wings to attack and apparently bomb (even though the X-wing isn't a bomber; I guess they scrapped all their Y-wings and B-wings?) a planet-sized weapon to try and blow it up. Star Wars battle tactics really kind of suck.
The crew behind Rogue One was making a lot of SJW noise on social media, including calling the Empire a white supremacist regime (FFS, how can you be so lacking in imagination and still hold a creative writing job?!!!)
Wasn't the Empire basically Nazis with an English accent? And besides the bounty hunters in Empire Strikes back (who were hired by Vader, the Imperials clearly weren't thrilled with them being there) everyone you saw was white and all of their droids (who are in subserviant positions) were black. So it's not actually much of a stretch to argue that.
Here is the key line from the article: "It’s possible Uber’s data gathering did not violate any laws..."
Tanslation: We have no evidence that Uber did anything illegal in regards to its data gathering, but we want you to assume that they did while maintaining a defense against libel.
It probably went against some websites TOS's though, which given the current state of our judicial system, should make the eligible for the death penalty and a fine large enough to put their grandchildren into crippling debt. Or at least, it would if Uber was a regular person, not a corporation.
Even the Berlin wall, with its armed guards and minefields, couldn't keep East Germans put of West Germany (Well, really keep them in East Germany). Walls don't work, and neither will Trumps.
You have to take into account that this isn't a unique situations. If billionaires start dumping all of their dollars they could tank the whole US economy.
They don't do that because it would be massively against their own interests, just as it would be against the whale's own interest to tank Bitcoin, they are the folks who have the most to lose in destabilizing it, and are going to do everything they can to stop that from happening.
True, but billionaires can also leverage their billions in non-liquid forms to generate income, whether through loans, interest payments, rents, whatever. So they have no real need or desire to ever pull out all their cash. These 1000 people holding bitcoins, while their coins are accumulating theoretical value they have no way to cash in on that value except by cashing out on their holdings, which would drastically and negatively affect their value. The only way they could really cash out is by growing the bitcoin user base so large that there is enough movement for them to sell off bits at a time without really affecting the value, or colluding to dump most of it all at once which should let them cash out most of their bitcoins (albeit at ever decreasing values) and leaving everyone else holding comparatively worthless coins. They won't get everything, but they would probably get millions out of it no problem.
Some crossovers would be nice. Maybe Wendell traps peoples' souls in his action figures? The origin story of the purple-bearded apartment building could be creepy. For some good social/political commentary there's the terrierists. And imagine being haunted by the ghost of this guy.
If you know a more efficient way to get your kids clean, I'd like to hear it!
Of course, it only works if you have two kids of approximately the same mass, otherwise the drum is unbalanced and the washing machine shakes pretty badly.
A washboard saves on electricity, but gets impractical once the child reaches a certain size. Additionally, using a wringer to dry them is not recommended as it will often deform the child from it's original shape as well as damage the material.
Getting people hooked to communicating with other people? Fucking sign my kids up. We have enough anti-social loners in the world as it is.
I remember those pre-internet and cell phone days. Everyone just sat by themselves in dark rooms with no form of communication to those around them. Miserable times indeed.
Not buying anything you don't need is how you save up money. And having money is very helpful when you want to get rich.
If you look at the history of Kevin, Mark, and Robert on Shark Tank, the best way to get rich is to get lucky and start a company at the right time (beginning of a bubble) and have it bought for millions.
With sign-on and retention bonuses, a regional pilot makes about $50-60k starting out. At a legacy carrier, a 1st-year pilot makes about $70k a year base(can be more if they pick up certain trips, etc). The second year it jumps up to over $100k. As for Sully, well, as a 320 captain (who was most likely topped out pay wise on his aircraft) he was making well over $200k (and had the time to run a side business and had income from that) a year, with extra pay and bonuses/etc likely getting him close to $250K. If he was having mortgage issues then he either had too much of a house or too many houses.
Immediately rescind all holiday vacation to start then correct the software.
Not rocket science, geezus.
Holiday vacations were most likely already awarded months ago. The glitch didn't give people off, it just didn't assign them any work. And, since pilots are unionized with strong contracts, you can't just say "oops, we screwed up, you're working now".
In a seniority-based system. the least senior pilots are probably going to end up getting their vacation cancelled and paid extra to entice them to not say they're unfit to fly. They're also going to have to pick whose turn it is in IT to be the official scapegoat. Airline scheduling is not an easy thing, but the computers doing the schedule rely on human inputs as well.
It didn't necessarily give them all vacation, it just didn't schedule the line holders to rotations over that time period. Vacation is certainly bid for a whole year period and not given on a month by month basis (barring any vacation moves of course). But you are definitely right that they wouldn't have assigned enough pilots reserve schedules to cover all of those flights (some of whom might have be senior enough to have Christmas off as a reserve pilot but too junior to hold a line and be off on Christmas so intentionally bid reserve). It wouldn't surprise me if that's how this mess was caught: they realized that they had far fewer reserves than there were open trips (because all the trips were open). But this will definitely be costly for AA. With the union squawking about the 150%, AA will probably end up having to pay 200% (which under certain conditions some airlines already pay that much) and might still have to cancel some flights.
...but cannot do their business on their own in a designated spot
Dogs can and do do that as well, the problem is it's a spot they designate, not you. My dog always pees right outside the door that leads to the kitchen and it has eaten away the wood of the deck at that spot.
Destiny 2 was released Sept 6. They are releasing an expansion on Dec 6. 3 months after the game first released (and only 2 months since it came out on PC). I actually considered buying it this weekend on sale until I saw it already had expansions coming out because I knew it had just been released. Don't charge full price for a game and then charge half that again for an expansion a few months later. I'll stick to a reasonably priced and fun game like RS2:Vietnam that came out in May and is getting a free expansion this week.
I'd rather eat chicken. Turkey is the _worst_ of the domesticated birds.
I've just never liked roasted/baked turkey.
Maybe its because I don't generally drink and eat at the same time, I don't wash my food down....so, ANY roast turkey I've ever had, tastes mostly like dried cardboard to me.
I started my own tradition decades ago, each year I do a standing Rib Roast.
We always do a ham and a turkey for Thanksgiving, but a while back I was able to talk my family into doing standing rib roasts for Christmas. So much better. Turkey is always so dry, and the skin is tough, dry, and stringy.
I think I'll create a start-up where a bunch of people pay $200-300 monthly fees and get to "co-own" a car. 1 car for every 4 "co-owners", at $200 a pop, comes out to about 50% profit after car note and insurance costs. If anyone wants to invest hit me up.
The doors weren't online, the computer that was writing to the keys was online. That should have been offline too, but whatever.
All the hotels I've been to lately have what seems to be a standalone machine that programs the keys. Or are those hooked up to computers as well?

See my sig for the modern version of that quote, at least as applied to politics.

Interestingly enough, thats close enough to describe what I heard not when the wires swung, but when then pylon landed and shook back and forth.

Quick! Someone go out and register etherpets.com and we can have a poster child for the cryptocurrency bubble!

"as a tattoo was not considered a legal DNR order in this state" So, written and signed DNRs aren't legal? Weird.
It has to be notarized as well. Think meat tenderizer, but with a seal imprint on the head.

5 and 7 are pretty suspect - 7 was a random twitter account which could have been anyone, .
#7 was a statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry.....
This will allow ISP's to increase their revenue and use that money to improve and expand their infrastructure.
Haven't we been giving them millions in payments and tax breaks for years to do that very thing? Hasn't happened yet.
You misunderstand. The 4-1 is just the ratio. They can grab whatever car is available. Would be a perfect pairing with a "co-living community" too!
