I have watched when they played this game with The West Wing and Law & Order. Law & Order really started at 9:00 P.M. (Central), but the start time in the schedule was either 8:59 P.M. or 9:01 P.M.
If they play that game and it interferes with my viewing preference, I might drop the offending program. I weigh the two programs and make a choice. The television networks can play those games, but they are taking a gamble. For my choice, the offending network generally loses out. If a network plays these games on a regular basis, then I might just drop it from my list of viewable channels.
I don't need to watch any programs. I watch them for enjoyment.
I will weed out programs from my season passes on a regular basis.
And don't forget that the initial communication came from a Yahoo account.

One thing that reporters/editors should do before adding a hyperlink to another site, is to find out if the site can withstand a slashdotting. If they cannot, then find a way to provide the information from the other site without killing the other server. i.e. Find a mirror site or host the page on their own server.
With the new campaign financing laws, they have to say that. I think that it is to let you know which ads are from the candidate instead of some special interest group.
One of the lessons from this is to record the interview yourself. It can put the interviewer on the defensive. If the interviewer turns out to be a schmuck and twists your words, then you pull out the recording and throw it back in his/her face.
I remember being told to treat sending an e-mail as if I were sending a postcard. There is absolutely no expectation of privacy. If I want absolute privacy, I have a face to face conversation. Other than that, the two parties need to agree to use encryption for the e-mail message. Even that is not a perfect solution.
Bill Norris, the former CEO of Control Data Corporation drove an old pickup truck. He was the head of a major corporation. What does that say about your image conscious view of things.
The people who really matter don't care about those things.
I was right. I bought my new powerbook less than a month ago and they announce a speed increase. I am happy with what I have, so I am not too disappointed that I did not wait.
I like these black boxes for the automobiles. I wish I had one when I was in an accident.
The car in front of me stopped. I stopped with inches to spare. The car in back of me hit me and pushed me into the car in front of me. The driver behind me said that I hit the car in front of me first (of course). The driver in front of me was not sure. The black box would have shown that the driver behind me was lying.
Black boxes record the data. It is up to you to control your actions. If the black box recorded and transmitted the data on a regular basis, then I would have a problem with it.
We block cellphone calls. Guns are not allowed. . . . No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service
* In Minnesota, we have a conceal/carry law that allows businesses, churches, etc. to not allow guns in the building when the sign is posted at the entrance.

What is the legal standard that has to be met to win a lawsuit for false advertising?
In viewing SCO Group's actions, a quote from Babylon 5 comes to mind.
In the words of Londo Mollari: "only an idiot fights a war on two fronts; only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts."
I think that we have found the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots. I have lost track on how many entities they are really going after and how many they are threatening to go after.
I was at one customer site that had very dirty data in its database. One of my coworkers was writing a cleanup program. One of the types of records that was being cleaned up was company. He wrote an application where the user dragged one company record to the good record "Good Company" and then dragged one record to the bad record "Bad company" drop boxes. He used the icon of a building with a halo over it for the good company and the bad company icon was a red building with horns.
I thought that it was funny and very creative, but I told him that someone would take offense. He did not believe me until a manager saw it and told him to change the icons.
You forget one thing. When you buy a company you also take on its liabilities as well. Even if you could buy it for US$0.05, you would be liable for all judgments against the company.
With all of the ill will created by the present board of directors of the company, buying SCO would be a bad investment at any price.
I have found that in any group of people, there are some who will take things too far. This applies to religion, politics, gaming, sports, computer users, etc.
Most people are reasonable and can see the merits of a position different than theirs. Those who take things too far, zealots, cannot see the merits of other positions.
If they do make timeshifting and fastforwarding through commercials impossible, then I think that people will start to realize that they don't need TV. They will read books (heaven forbid), go to a play, exercise, etc.
If they implement these changes, then they might just run the risk of having television being referred to (in historical context) as a fad that lasted less than a hundred years. This might not be such a bad thing.

The problem with that statement, is that he was using a Mac.

I implied that the interviewer would know about the recording. It is much more powerful if he/she knows about the recording.

A better rate structure is to give a reduced rate for carrying an ELT and charge a refundable deposit for the unit.

Then it must be coming out real soon. I just upgraded to the 15 inch model with the SuperDrive.
I would have loved to see that.
I can just see it now here in Minnesota*.

My suggestion would be to carry along a dictionary of terms. When one of these twits speaks up, throw the book at the person.
But which one is the controlling device?

Same here. Hey Wil Wheaton, anyone you know would be interested in this idea?

This is the reason for the drop: Margin concerns hit Apple shares.
