  1. toys on On Training, Recruitment Uses For Army Games · · Score: 1

Does anyone remember that movie "toys" with Robin Williams? This sounds kind of like that if you ask me. I'm not the biggest fan of anything related to the army so meh to that whole recruitment through gaming idea.

  2. cool stuff on Cassini-Huygens Reaches Orbit Around Saturn · · Score: 2, Interesting

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but there are 616,800 hand-written signatures from 81 countries on a disc inside Cassini. I remember when I was in 7th grade and my entire class sent in our signatures to NASA. Now it's seven years later and my name is billions of miles away in space. How cool is that?

  3. Bonnaroo on Temporary Wireless Service For An Outdoors Event? · · Score: 2, Interesting

From what I understand, Bonnaroo will have wireless net access over a 600 acre farm. That's a rather large undertaking if you ask me, but they're doing it :) Not too sure how, but I know linksys is a sponsor so... yeah :)

  4. yah on Cell Phone Jammers: Coming To An Event Near You? · · Score: 1

This story was on CNN last night/early this morning. They can't legally jam cell phones because the FCC has deemed the waves public space. Therefore, no ONE person has the right to jam any airwaves. Granted they're trying to pass some legislation or some hoopdela like that which could only be approved by the oval office. I'm sure they'll try to rush this through before dubya gets out of office...

newsflash: get away from your computer and get a girl and stop picking on me

  6. 2000+ artists on MP3.com Hastily Re-launches -- But Will It Fly? · · Score: 5, Informative

My boyfriend is an artist on mp3.com, and the somewhat small artist count is due to the fact that they only let artists start signing up about 2 weeks ago. To top that off, if you were trying to sign up, you were going to run in to some sort of net traffic due to the other hundreds of artists trying to sign up. Give them some time, they're still rebuilding.

  7. 4 years and still going on Downsides to Intrafamily IM? · · Score: 3, Interesting

My entire family (all five of us) have had aim accounts since '99. My mom uses it at work to message us at home and we use it at home to message each other throughout the house rather than yelling (it pisses dad off). All in all, it's made our life a little quieter and peaceful. Downside is, you have a better chance of talking to someone on AIM than in person around here. Eh, welcome to the digital revolution I guess...

  8. Re:foreign film section on Blockbuster Chief: End DVD Region Codes · · Score: 1

yeah, i do work at a video store. there's no chance of me losing my job anytime soon, i get all the free video and game rentals i could ever need and i get mad discounts. for only being 19 and being a manager, i think i'm pretty well off right now seeing as how i'm still in college :P

  9. Re:foreign film section on Blockbuster Chief: End DVD Region Codes · · Score: 2, Informative

hey, i'm a manager at a blockbuster and i think your store must suck or something. my store is relatively new (about 7 months) and we have almost nothing but dvd's. They're slowly phasing vhs out all together. You're lucky if you can find vhs in my store. Our foreign section is nothing BUT dvd's. So, I think either your store is old, just sucks, or is a franchise store and not corporate.

  10. ungh on 'Matrix Revolutions' Opens Today · · Score: 1

i woke up at 7am to see revolutions only so be super disappointed. isnt that depressing? none of the major questions were answered, there was entirely too much action going on, and the wachowski's definitely pulled away from the philosophy lesson that was the matrix I. Oh well.

  11. my sister on RIAA Sues 12-Year Old Girl · · Score: 1

is 11 years old and downloads music for school, are they going to sue her next? i bet the riaa is having all sorts of fun preying on dangerous 12 year olds... because we all know how much of a threat they are to the record companies sales. come on people, how can you sue someone who doesnt even know what they're doing is wrong?! when i was 12, i worried about getting caught staying up past my bedtime, not getting sued by some stupid company!

  12. have you seen on Matrix Reloads to $42.5 Million Opening · · Score: 1

  13. Re:last night on Review: Matrix: Reloaded · · Score: 1

guess what? i went again tonight, and was able to spot the little things, after getting the subtle hidden meaning of the movie wednesday night. you wish you were me...

  14. last night on Review: Matrix: Reloaded · · Score: 1

reloaded was awesome, mind blowing, and all that good stuff. I went and saw an early showing on wednesday with all the hardcore types (including 8 of us from blockbuster). Honestly, I had low expectations for it, seeing as how it had big shoes to fill, but it was very good. The graphics were awesome, the story was awesome (except the love bullsh!t) and it really made you think. One thing I may add... go see it trippin, it makes it far more interesting :)

  15. so... on Widescreen (Finally) Winning · · Score: 2, Interesting

I work at a newly opened blockbuster, and we only carry widescreen format dvd's. Personally, I like them better than fullscreen, but if you have a tiny tv, it makes viewing kind of rough. The majority of our customers ask for fullscreen however, but that could be due to the fact that it's out in the boonies....

  16. yeah so.. on Bombing the Moon for Water · · Score: 1

that was the most hillarious commercial so far. this game is depressing. i'm not routing for any side (although I would have been much happier had the eagles won last week).
SO right now i'm doing my part as an american college student. sitting in the dorms with everyone else getting drunk and smoking. horrah.

(on an added note: these anti-drug commercials are getting rediculous. all you could hear when those went on was "bullshit". cmon america, get with it.)

I'm at West Chester University and they've blocked every single file sharing application. Seriously, you don't believe me? Come here and check it out. The network cant handle the amount of users on it already. I download below a Kb most of the time :( I was faster at home on dialup. I dont know if they put a cap on how much we can download, but now that I think about it, I'm going to look into that.

i admit i'm not the biggest star wars fan, but i really enjoyed the last hour or so. I was on the verge of falling asleep before that though... suprisingly, a lot of JOCKS came to see it, and for about 2 1/2 hours.. we all got along ;)of course everyone agrees around here, that the scene with yoda and dooku was the ultimate shiznit! it rocked.. you could hear the people in the theatre cheering when he whipped out his lightsabre :) kudos to lucas for redeeming himself partially.
