    Lost Jumped the Shark so long ago, I don't think the writers could even keep up and just made up plot devices as they went on, "hypertexting" as they pleased to fit those "devices" in.

    What about Neromancer? or 13 or Singularity skies? There are a ton of sci-fi movies completely NOT Film-able. I agree Dune is one of the best, but Singularity Skies? "Ears back and teeth bared the rabbit leveled his machine gun" (or something like that) Best line in a book I have ever read.

    That is not true, if you follow all the rules in back and whit it is. But start a corporation with your own name (as Actors often do) and have at anything you like, who would know? Use your TIN as you SS and aaaaaway toy go! S-corps pay $0.00 federal income taxes, make sure your profits stay small and you can do what you want.

    One could argue that for something to be illegal you must break a law or even the "spirt" of a law. You can't be braking the law by asking for information or proof of something, even if it were classified unless you were asking someone to break the law to obtain the information. Even breaking an NDA is not braking the law, its violating the terms of a contract and that is the only rub, and even then it's only a civil penalty (which you don't have to pay, really there can be issues, but you won't go to jail for not paying, but that's for another time). You can sue someone for anything, just like you can send a C&D letter to anyone for anything.

    ....Mac and Windows argument? There are no virus for Mac's. There are no terrorists trying to blow up Canadians (relatively).

    Safety through obscurity is not the same as being safe.

    Not that I have a stand on the issue, I personally think the TSA is one of the "less" effective agencies on the "war on terror"; I worked for DHS training TSA screeners about how to "X", I quit 6 months in. It was like trying to teach Shakespeare (as written) to ESL students from Asia (which I have also seen attempted).

    Top to bottom the TSA is a bad joke involved in customer service, PR and propaganda work. I could only work with the screeners for so long until I could not take it anymore. I tested airport check points and while I cant say anything (signed a lot of documents saying I would not) about what I did, saw or learned, I can say is; you just DON'T want to know. Um, yea, Just hope all those devices do their job as most screeners are there because its a government job; it pays without (for the most part) the possibility of being fired. They begged me for weeks not to leave.

    I agree, but I am sure the criteria was only 501c3 tax status at first. SSDP is self-serving as are other PRO-recreational drug non-profits and stupid (yes, I judge). I think Chase was smart to remove orgs pushing an agenda of making an illegal product legal or vise-versa as it could be used against them later if they had won and forked over some money.

    I am white, my wife is blackfoot and my manager is half white/half black, I hire an equal mix of black, white, Native Alaskan or anyone of any color that does a good job.     In my city you need to steal 50K plus to even get noticed by a grand jury. NOT KIDDING.

    I had an employee take a payment from a customer of $1000 in cash, hand write the customer a signed receipt (from the receipt book, leaving the copy in there) and then report electronically in her end of report she only received $6 in cash all day and in her safe drop (a true drop safe) she and wrote the date, the cash amount of $6 in a sealed and again signed envelope. She then walked out and locked the door behind her and did not come back to work the next day. It was a fluke she was working by herself, but for $1000?

    She was arrested, she called from jail and asked that if she gave us the money back would we drop the charges. With all of this the DA "declined to prosecute based on lack of evidence" Come to Anchorage, do crime!

    I shoot with everything underexposed by one stop then use Aperture to work with the highlights. I often work with the colors, lighting, contrast, highlights and shadows in the software, but nothing that couldn't be done in a dark room if I were using film. I also use "retouch" if I notice small defects (artifact, scanning error, etc) where are they going to draw the line?
    • What if someone in France looks at my Picasa account? Where is the line?
