    I think two-way comms are very likely. CA is nearly a police state as it is. There would already be a infrastructure setup to send ads, the plates will have power, memory and a small processor. All you need to get a position is something akin to a overpowered RFID. The ID already being known as the license plate number, placing pairs of receivers here and there. It would not be building much cost into the system and pretty short sighted not to consider it for the long term.

    If they can send (?) ad and other information (FTFA) to your plate, they can receive it as well. I am guessing; where you are, for how long, or for how fast you are going. Possibly privacy takes another icicle in the eye.

    Not matter what it is (of the three choices) it's bad news. One thing we know about war, its fought over territory. The more value a place has, them more people will fight over it and the more people will defend it. It feeds into the extreme islamic view of the west using them, it feeds corporations desire to get there hands in there and it feeds pain and suffering of the people who live there.

    Never once in history of multi-national corporations that a place where wealth was found did the inhabitants get rich. RANDOM EXAMPLES: East india trading company, California Gold Rush, Alaska Gold Rush, Oil (almost everywhere it was found), Diamonds, sugar cane, ALCOA, Uranium in Indian country, and there are hundreds of others. Corporate wealth does not make the locals rich.

    I just put in R20, DYI too, sounded like a baby grinder churning up all that insulation and blowing it into the attic space. Maybe now the state police and the DEA won't be able to see the signature from my grow lights, to bad they still monitor kilowatt usage in my town.

    I was in the same spot, hired as a web content person, next thing I knew I was IT manager for the corporation doing PC support, hands-on sever, PBX, twisted pair, web development and CSM rec, integration and more. I was working 60-80 a week and after 6 months I got a "good job" and no raise, another 2 months and I had to ask for a raise. I got a big "why and NO", needless to say my enjoyment of my job went to zero and it showed. I was asked to resign 3 weeks later. They has to hired 2 people to replace me.

    We learned recently that life can survive in the vacuum and lack of temperature of space. The relevant jump is that life can jump or piggy back on something through like a comet or rock the depths of space. Thus the seed theory (or what ever it's really called)

    An old school friend of mine is in China teaching at a university (important to note he is not a tramp around the world teaching english type, he is a Historian) He writes a blog also and often notes that he must use many different ways to publish works or even post to facebook/twitter/otr social media. He does not really write on current Chinese events but at most makes comparisons between history and modern events without condemning current policies. I see their censorship as fact and the clear contradictions as a cultural norm on this planet distinct only though differences of language but common every where when dealing with government and business alike.

    So do the civilians in the USA. I have the eq to a M110, a M4 in 6.8mm and OTV with SAPA plates and a Kpod helmet. I am not an extremist, but I see no reason to get rid of this stuff. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. Of course I remind myself that in Poland where even a BB gun was hard to get an hour after the revolution started civilians had tanks. Yes I know, I have contradictory stuff going on.

    I RTFA and this is really bad. It seems that since they only want to prosecute video where the police office in question is doing something that makes him look bad this is the reverse of "equal protection" and as such will create a rift between concerned and active citizens and police. In other times and places, this is referred to as a "police state". I don't think it could hold up as Constitutional, but given the actions of the courts in the last 9 years I just don't even know.

    I meant w9, not 1099. and it's not the W9, it the ton's of other paperwork they often send along with it. As an example a few days ago I got a request from a client on for a W9 on a payment that was over 30 days past due. Along with that W9 was an ethics and and workplace diversity statement (over 40 pages long) and a form for the right to native american hiring preference my company had to sign in order to get paid. Now this was for 4 hours of work I had 3 employees do over 30 days prior at a 3rd party's location. It's bureaucratic nonsense like that I am ultimately opposed to.

    I do absolutely every transaction I can though my S-Corp. No Taxes, No late fees. All I have to pay tax on is the transfered net to me personally. This is some more paperwork with the state bi-annually but its worth it. Everything becomes an expense for my business. In other words, I only pay taxes on what I actually pay myself. It helps I have a service/rental company with a few employees.

    Exactly, when some paper pusher asks me to fill out a 1099 when they use my s-corps service I ask them if they are thinking clearly, I generally follow up with did you send one to your freight transport company or Dell?

    2) what would prevent someone with a fake ID (as my local mall cellphone kiosk working 17 year old is not trained in spotting a fake ID) from driving around all day buying pre-paid phones then reselling them?

    I thought the unpublished speed of the SR-71 was around Mach 6? Supposedly my brother met a 71 pilot who said he could fly over LA-NYC in like 40 minutes (at alt and speed). I am not saying any of that is fact, just something I remember from 25 years ago (living near Hamilton AFB)

    In some states there are laws that if you leave a firearm unlocked, someone steals it and uses it, you can be charge with a crime.
