Not neccesarily true, my gun safe is in my closet, about 3 feet from my bed. Also, my safe is biometric and I can have it open and firearm out in 3 seconds. Plenty of time as my bedroom is on the 2nd floor and I can be armed before an intruder could make their way to my room.
You might want to check this out at the patent office first, there was a device I remember from the late 70's, early 80's very similar to the "Clapper" called "The Whistle Switch" that did exactly the same thing.
You plugged it in the outlet then plugged whatever appliance (typically a lamp) you wanted to turn on or off. It came with a little whistle that had a squeeze bulb on it that you would produce a high pitched whistle and toggle the device on and off.
You could also reproduce tone whistling with your mouth. Here is a vintage site that has one.
Awesome video, a lot of freaked out people over there! The flash of light and the shock wave had a bunch of folks crapping their pants. Also reports of about 500 being injured.
I wonder if any of the guard's they hired are on the list they published.
If they wanted to practice what they preach, why not get only government guards, i.e. law enforcement to protect them?
Whats a matter, doesn't law enforcement protect you at all times?
No, law enforcement is not there to protect you, they are there to clean up the mess and write up the reports. "When seconds count, the cops are minutes away."
Same here. Voted in Westerville(Suburb of Columbus) Arrived at 6:00AM at least 100 people already in line. Polls opened a 6:30AM and at that point there had to be at least 300-400 in line. I got though in about 15 minutes and the line was moving very smoothly. Glad I didn't show up any later!
How about stopping some of the idiotic spending that we're doing? God forbid we show a little fiscal responsibility instead of being fleeced fro more money...
Hell, I've had my domain through Register.com for 10 years. It's set up to auto renew and they even provide domain lock which prevents the transfer of my domain without my consent.
What's the big deal? Sounds like Go Daddy needs to change the way they deal with domain transfers.
Back when if something went wrong (soldering an electrolytic cap in backwards, say) you could actually go to Radio Shack and buy useful parts from somebody who knew more than you did about electronics.
Now get off my lawn!
Radio Shack is another of my favorite things, although the folks that work there now are no where near as knowledgable as in the past. You can get lucky on occasion though.
YES! I loved HeatKit! My dad and myself would work on those kits when I was young.
Glad to see they're making a comeback. Get Kids interested in electronics and a great way for them and their fathers (and possibly mothers) to bond. Something we are sorely missing these days.

About the same... ;-)
I still find it difficult to believe someone can get paid for gaming...
ALT-F4 from the desktop gives you the power off/log off menu as well.

He would love it, I imagine! ;-)
Don't know why he was commenting on a thread concerning Monty Python and he didn't know Graham was dead in the first place...
Graham Chapman is no more...

How you like me now, Hans Blix?!?!
Mr. President, we must not allow a habitable exoplanet gap...

I need melange.....
WTF!
Lets put it this way...
I can't justify paying $80 a month for a service I am already paying for at my residence (Internet access).
I do have it through the device my employer provides me, but could I do without it if that wasn't the case? You bet I could...
Yes, for $80 a month, kind of pricey if you ask me...
