Me too. I use the Apple Keyboard and the Apple Mouse on my PC. You'd think only having one mouse button would be a problem, but it isn't too bad. But the keyboard causes zero problems.
I can just see the virus protection software making changes to their notifications to keep track of attacks that could cost people money and list it in a tally window: "You've saved $764 in internet fines this year because you used Morton AntiVirus 2005! Want to upgrade to the Pro version?"
The Pro version will include an insurance plan in case you go on vacation for a week and leave your XP box on and a new exploit surfaces while you're gone.
As businesses stake their very existence on the Internet, PCs, PDAs, and other key computing platforms, the trustworthiness of these platforms has become a vital concern.
Why is that? Should I just take their word for it? Is my car being trusted by the interstate when I take it for a spin? Why must we add this layer?
My Sprint PCS Vision internet access even goes as far as to recompress JPEGs. The result is not only smaller, but much worse quality. For instance, Google's logo comes up with a gray background instead of white. Blah. If the founding fathers didn't originally add it to the web, why add it now? Just kidding, but really.
They're nickel-and-dime-ing the consumer to death, and no one will do anything about it. What, do they think we're made of money? The surcharges and the "Artist" tax for all CDR related equipment has to stop. When will people take notice? (fp)
SETI@home took the time to port (or just recompile) their client very as many type of platforms as possible. So as much as I'd like to be able to delve into the source, it's nice to see the support for as many systems as they have.
Why can he do something about those stock prices? Lashing out at Dell and offering "amnesty" to IBM users to switch is all well and good, but none of this fixes what's broken at Sun. Where's the plan of action, man?
I kind of like my science fiction with a high threshold on geek plots, and a low threshold on substance...but that's just me. If I wanted substance, I'd read a non-scifi book. Still, I can see how people would be interested in it.

Horror, terror, what's the difference? I'm glad the Patriotic Act provisions are doing this.
That's like Fantasmic! where they project cartoon clips onto a couple fountains. Those aren't 3D, but they're impressive.
Well, I'm impressed. I think only people who manage are not.
Cool new fad. I bet I can try and not use it. ;-)
I noticed that compression is worse using scrambled text:
./scrmable.pl genesis.txet
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$ gzip g*
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$ ls -l
total 304
-rwxr-xr-x 1 anthonym staff 63830 Sep 15 16:33 genesis.text.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 anthonym staff 84945 Sep 15 16:36 genesis.txet.gz
-rwxr-xr-x 1 anthonym staff 1396 Sep 15 15:56 scrmable.pl
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$ gunzip g*
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$ zip genesis.zip g*
adding: genesis.text (deflated 70%)
adding: genesis.txet (deflated 60%)
[anthonym@uniblab scrbameld]$
Interesting. Anyone have an explaination for tihs?
Quick! Someone go register goaste.cx, micorsoft.com, ssdlhoat.org...etc.
Actually, does this work well with letter pairs like, "th ch wh sh qu?" I forget what those are called.
"Ford, you're turning into a penguin, stop it!"
Why can't they be as on top of the worm-infected-complete-lack-of-patching internet accounts too?

There was an episode of Alley McBeal where that funny lawyer (John) used a clicker instead of saying voicing his objection.
Of course, that has nothing to do with bats. But what's interesting is that that bats can "see" fish just under the service of the water.

I'm sure it will all turn out fine. We just have to put up with a few Legal Blunders for the time being.
Remember what Dr. Phlox said about humans and their optimism. Ok, I guess I'm much more happy with the fiction on TV...can you blame me?
At least it's not the Napalm & Silly Putty recipe.
I never thought about solar flares from other stars being any kind of problem for us. Especially ones that far away. Amazing.
