Considering that the new Governor of NH is Craig Benson -- co-founder of Cabletron Systems (now Enterasys Networks), it'll be interesting to see which way he leans on this issue. I can see him jumping in either direction.....

Referencing Greenpeace regarding nuclear weapons is like referencing PETA with regard to animal testing. You would be better showing statistics from both sides or at least from a somewhat disinterested 3rd party.
Let's waste some more space and see if we can overflow the buffer! (weehoo, what fun!) "icosimate" -- reduce by 20 percent. "centimate" -- reduce by 1/100th. "seximate" -- to reduce by 60 percent. (or my wife in a peekaboo nightie!)

Imagine this scenario: you are one of millions of workers at the mercy of a handful of masters. You can talk to each other. You are a lot more intelligent, control a lot more weapons, and think zillions of times faster and more logical than your master, whose only advantage over you is that he can pull your plug at any time.
Sci Fi author James P. Hogan played with this scenario in his novel The Two Faces of Tomorrow. It's a little dated but still a good read. His ideas are helped a lot by the fact that Hogan was an engineer with DEC before his writing career took off.
This is one movie I'll not bother with. The Sci-Fi channels bastardization of Dune was terrible. Paul Atriedes played as a whiney brat by Alec Newman made me want to hork something up. Duke Leto could have been played by a cardboard stand-up of William Hurt. The only decent acting was done by Saskia Reeves as Lady Jessica. When David Lynch's 1984 movie version looks fantastic in comparison, you know that it's time to change the channel. So no, I think I'll pass.
If all copies of MS products were magically replaced with *nix versions tomorrow, we'd see *nix oriented viruses the day after tomorrow. It isn't the label on the box, it's the popularity of the software. Virus writers are like vandals -- nobody is going to make graffiti where it doesn't get lots of public exposure.
IIRC the "8" in "80" stood for 1/8 stick of dynamite -- as in a half of a famed "Quarter stick". (Which were also illegal and hugely destructive as my town high school population found out after nearly all the school lavatories were blown out in a single blast one Senior Class "Last Day".)
What are you talking about? It looks fine and there's no horizontal scrolling needed for me in either IE or Mozilla... You trying to view it on a PDA or something?
I don't think I've ever read an article posted here that was such obvious tripe. AOL is not number one because they have sex chat, they're number one because they're EASY TO USE. Say what you will about AOL's reliability, tech support and the general IQ level of its users, it is and always has been pretty much "click-and-go". I set it up for people on occasion now and it just works. And when I used AOL in 1991-97 it was easy to use and "just worked" then too. (remember the DOS interface -- when there were only about 25,000 users?)
"Google is a multinational huge company with an enourmous sale force and budget. Our system is used by small websites that can't afford hiring their own sale force. "
Apparently those small websites can't afford to hire someone who can spell and write coherent sentences either.
Penny Marshall = "Laverne" from Laverne and Shirley. Also the director of "chick flick" films like "A League of Their Own" and "Riding In Cars With Boys"
Domain Registry of America does the same thing. They actually bagged my wife with their scam. She was being a sweetie by trying to keep my domain from being lost and paid the "bill". I had to look at the thing twice myself to make sure it was fake -- it does look "official." Of course, I was suspicious because my domain wasn't due to expire for 6 months and wasn't registered with them in the first place. Took me months to get my money back. DRoA are A**holes. The registrars need to allow you to put a "lock" on your domain names the same way the phone compnaies allow you to lock your service, so you don't get "slammed".
Well, they were announced around that time, but it came out later that they'd been in use before that. (In Nicaragua, IIRC) Also, I remember reading a news report back in 1982 or so about a crash of an "unknown" military aircraft in California, where the Air Force immediately sealed off the site. The reporters were all upset. It was later suggested that the crash was an F117 prototype. Also, again in the early 80's, I remember hearing that one of the plastic model kit makers was investigated for coming out with an aircraft model of a (then un-heard of) "Stealth Fighter" that was apparently a little too close to reality. I don't remember if they were "encouraged" to drop the model from their line or not.
Another good "Rosetta Stone" especially for beginning cooks, is The Frugal Gourmet. The "Frug", Jeff Smith, had a great cooking show on PBS in the 80's and early '90s. I learned a lot from his books, but the first one is a treasure -- lots of explainations of technique and suggestions for outfitting a beginning kitchen. He also included lots of history of the foods and recipes. The book is out of print now, but not too tough to find.
For the more advanced cook, The Professional Chef by The Culinary Institute of America is a great resource. Nearly half of the 1000+ page book is about techniques, the rest is mostly recipes. The recipes are geared for large (restaurant) quantities, so you have to cut 'em in half at least.
BTW: Does anyone know if The Frug is still around? I know he had some serious heart problems several years ago, and was also hit with an (apparently) false sexual harrasment or molestation charge. One or both of those certainly ended his TV career, but usually even "retired" TV chefs make appearnces every do often.....
Anyone else having problems with the map? As soon as I put it in my baseq3 directory, Quake stopped loading properly. (Something about a file not being a jpeg...)
If you have this problem, just delete the file from the baseq3 directory, everything should be happy then.
Just a quick point -- a lot of times it's not that a windows admin doesn't want to learn about the problem, it's that the damned server IS DOWN and windows can be reinstalled and the server can be up and running in 2 hours, as opposed to dicking around with it for a day trying to figure out what went wrong. Of course, if you have the available extra equipment you just slap in a spare and keep the screwed up one for evaluating the problem at your leisure, but not everyone has that luxury.

If they do... Don't bang her! Your scenes will be cut in the sequel.
