Yeah, it was a bad summary. That was the way I interpreted it at first too; I wondered if someone had made an app-designer so simple that even toddlers could be writing them now (hey, it's Apple. This will probably happen).
...idiot MBA-wielding managers didn't keep shoving people into morale-destroying open-plan offices, they wouldn't have to wear headphones to get a modicum of privacy.
That's because next to negotiations, you have to wait until they're done dubbing the show... and dubbing it BADLY.
I love how this implies that there is good dubbing;)
All dubbing sucks. I don't know how anyone who lives in those areas can stand it. Especially friggen Poland, their style of one-guy-talking-over-the-original-soundtrack is utterly hilarious until you realise that people have to put up with this, every day of their lives.
The Dutch / Flemish / Swedish / Danish / Norwegians / Finns have got it right: subtitling. It's cheaper, and it doesn't ruin films.
If they're only getting paid for 40 of them, then it might be worth pointing out to the inquiry that their customers are probably paying for all 60 hours work, so that extra 20 should be passed on, or it won't be worked.
You can get all romantic about the thought of saving some young guy from jail for drugs possession but would you find it so noble if a Klan member got away with murdering an innocent African American youth by his all white jury? How about an innocent man who clearly didn't commit murder being found guilty because he was gay and the jury thought homosexuals were sinful and he deserved to be punished anyway?
The OP said "victimless BS charges". Neither of your examples qualify as "victimless BS".
Yeah, because unemployment is so much more important than ethics.
Fuck it, let's allow our private corporations to supply goods (weapons) and services (intelligence) to terrorist states too. It'll help fix the unemployment problem, and if we don't do it, someone else will!
.but it is a privately owned company, and they can make their own rules.
No, they can't. They can make rules about what goes on within their premises, but any sane country should be putting in force strict regulations, with heavy penalties, that say private companies have NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER over the actions of their staff in their private lives. This is ethics, pure and simple.
p.s. "Yes, Unity sucks, but why can't you use one of the other desktop environments that are still in Ubuntu? It didn't take me long to make the Gnome 3 Classic environment look and work the same as Gnome 2 had." fuck you, just fuck you It shouldn't be the case that we install something, and its like, oh dopde do its shite, now I have to spend time to reconfigure it so it sort of resembles a twisted road kill impresion of how it used to be.
So, what's easier; reconfiguring a few things, or installing a completely different distribution?
I really don't understand this attitude of "oh, Ubuntu's default desktop environment sucks, let's completely reinstall", which has become so prevalent of late.
When Microsoft fucked up their desktop environment with XP's crayon-like GUI, then Vista's Aero and then whatever that atrocity in Windows 7 is, do people change operating systems? No. They switch classic mode on and configure the settings so that the environment meets their needs.
...just pressure the staff to work late every night and all weekend, but keep paying them only for 40 hours per week. And cancel all leave around Christmas.
Unfortunately, the polls don't show that at all. Despite the fact that a huge overwhelming majority of Australians don't like him, they are still indicating that they will vote for him.
Its no wonder the world economy is in the state it's in, with all the pointless busy-work being done that is allegedly necessary to the functioning of business.
...and I'll make sure to avoid any device that lists it in its manual.

...and the resulting exposure probably saved them tens of millions in advertising.

Doesn't the UK listen to its intellectuals any more?
You must be new to this planet.

What do they do if Apple rejects the software from the App Store?
Are they getting paid for all 60 of those hours?

"Google Play" sounds like an environment for children. Why would people look there for serious applications?
Log out and turn off your phone at 5pm, then. If you're not getting paid for those extra ten hours a day, you are giving your employer free labour.

...who was planning on betting the company on 3d TV?
Geez, it's not like other western countries don't have speed cameras.
because nobody's crazy enough to vote for Abbott
Unfortunately, the polls don't show that at all. Despite the fact that a huge overwhelming majority of Australians don't like him, they are still indicating that they will vote for him.
...in a meeting, can go fuck itself. I don't care about the job market, I'm not doing something demeaning like that.
I think you've got that arse-backwards there. What pro-choice group would consider condoms evil?
ugh, "It's", not "Its"
The vast, vast majority of work isn't Important.
Oh god, this this this this this.
