Now THAT is precious... Since when is spying illegal in the US? They even tamper with other people's hardware, suck up the data of whole countries, deploy MITM attacks on the backbone and more.
Really, they should just shut up and at least not become a bunch of spineless hypocrites.
Bullshit. I use Firefox since years, and it has been 64 bit for ages. Also, it rarely crashes (I think the last time it crashed for me was some time last year, but really, don't remember details). The main source fore restarts are the high-frequency updates.
Any type of redundancy is enough to fix errors, as long as you have at least one correct copy. raidz has one copy redundancy, raidz2 has two copies redundancy, and mirrored drives have as much redundancy as you want.
That sounds stupid.
He should have used proper encryption like Apple's File Vault or TrueCrypt. Those work independently of that domain stuff. And they allow you to back up a recovery key too.
It's not like I'd die without it, but I wouldn't' get into any of my accounts.
I also use a lot: Firefox, TextWrangler, Xcode, clang, quicksilver, Mac OS X,...
Incorrect. The PIN should never leave the device. It should be encrypted by the key pad for the chip on the card, and only that chip should be able to read it, decode it, and then sign the transaction as valid and authenticated.
Again, the PIN should NEVER leave the device.
'It's gone. Years of work and almost 340,000 fans, wiped out. Erased.'
He should really have made backups if his work is so valuable to him. Cloud storage might be in these days, but putting all eggs into the same basket is risky either way.
No, honestly, writing evil code in C is easy. You can open files without restrictions, modify them without restrictions, and so on, all with the power of the running user. Executing untrusted C code is NOT SECURE.
Executing random C code from somewhere on the net in a Browser is even dumber than doing the same with Java. Java at least has a security model, even if it's broken anew every week, and has more holes than a sieve. C on the other hand has nothing. It really is more or less like a portable Assembly Language as it was developed for.
It's a musical chairs problem. There won't be enough hiding spots to separate everyone with a gun from each other, so people WILL be approached by unknown other people.
...then I guess NoScript and AddBlock are fair game. Excellent.
Advertisers should not forget that they depend on our attention, and we're not obligated to give it to them.
If they would really look for relatives, then they would not limit themselves to male DNA sources. It should be obvious to anyone that a rapist can have female relatives just as well as male ones.
You missed the fact that there IS NO VLC in the app store. And if you are happy with downloading programs from the internet, then you can stick with mplayer in the first place, which plays pretty much anything you can throw at it.
Only if you entered it after the update and within the expiration date apparently. And you probably need local admin rights. Not a big hurdle if you're sitting in front of the computer.
That's exactly it. If even one of the most prominent Java users Google is sued only for using the Java API (as basis for their own VM), then just imagine if someone else uses the API in combination with Oracle's own JVM, they'd have even less defense. And most people probably are not even able to pay for a Google-style lawyer army.
There is an OS X and a Linux version in addition to the Windows version of this spyware. Check it out :)

Linux 3.14 should be Codenamed "Pi"
If you display the password, then malware could easily read it from screen by making a screenshot (or asking the OS to do it).

As long as it's just managers it's ok. All they seemed to do is form facebook into the privacy failure that it is today anyway.
For a Debugging Log. As the article said.

Ivy also requires a much bigger step up in voltage to hit the same speeds as Sandy Bridge.
I get the feeling that they have very weird notions about what constitutes CPU Speed...
No, we don't.
