The guy that did this had written into the letters section and sent a link to Woz. Woz seemed impressed, understandably so. The funny thing is that this is considered mass storage for the ][e. For those that still put their old apples through the motions, this could save them a lot of disk swapping, as they could more than likely fit their entire software and data library onto a single 64meg card. neat!
I think they are trying to tell you that if you break the license agreement, you and your family have to spend the rest of your lives as slaves in one of the record company's boy bands.
if sex were licensed under the GPL, you wouldn't have to pay, you could join in with as many people as you wanted, but once you were done, you would have to share all your knowledge of sexual positions used during the encounter with everyone else that was there.
and mr show with bob and david, which no longer airs nightly on hbo comedy. that was one of the funniest shows I had ever seen. I miss watching them at 10 each night. hbo programming bastards!
Yes. His review also says the the film makes it seem like the hobbits wouldn't have gotten anywhere without the other heroes. This is completely true though. If it had been up to the hobbits alone, they probably would not have left the shire, and if they did, they surely would have been overtaken soon afterwards without some help looking after them
buy one subscription, download the update you need once, use that one install on however many machines it is needed on. No one says you have to buy 100 subscriptions....
here is what i do... every few months, make a hotmail account or something unrecognized by your staff. Mail them your own 'virus' that simply says 'You shouldn't open unknown attachments. If this was a real virus, your IT staff would be punching you in the face right now"
yes, I think he meant s-video, but fyi, s-vhs didnt fail miserably, it just didnt have a place in the consumer market. it has been *widely* used in tv/broadcast industry for a long time. It is getting a bit long in the tooth now that more and more digital solutions are coming to market, but at this point I think it is still pretty much the standard, at least for most smaller/local tv stations. I have a cabinet full of about 50 of them I inherited from an x-girlfriend who was a producer. sorry for the offtopic reply...
Taking a complete guess here, but that is more than likely due to the fact that the game programmers looked for a specific version of quicktime, rather than looking for a version equal or greater to what was needed. This used to be a common mistake in quicktime games
As I understand it, you can already contact Onstar and get this kind of information as it is now. It doesn't automatically notify you of course, but all you have to do is push a button and ask for directions to restaurants etc
quick correction... the free version is crippled. no editing features, no simple way to save movies from the web without digging in the cache, and fullscreen viewing is disabled.
I think overlapping windows and choosing from a window menu of some sort would make more sense. For me, showing the window im not currently working on is a waste of space. I dont like working in a real small window, and when I use a laptop, the current window usually ends up taking up most of the screen. Some tiled setup with tiny windows would not work for me at all. I think the thing to notice here tho in this discussion, is there are a lot of perfectly valid arguments pointing in both directions on this. Seems the answer to me would be something that would allow you to switch between whichever mode you preferred or needed at the time, overlapping or paned.
they did this because wget is gpl, and for whatever reason they saw this as a reason not to include it. After updating to 10.1 the first thing i did was install fink tho, and type 'fink install wget' into terminal. Minutes later i had a fully compiled/working install of wget, waiting to go! Yay fink!
Well, in my case at least, it would take 9 cds. Instead of taking the time to burn 9 cds, I could plug this thing in and wait 10 minutes for it to load most of my collection, and I don't bother having to carry around a cd case, which can be a hassle if your using it somewhere other than in your car. I would also be interested to know how long it takes for a nomad to transfer 5 gigs over usb. The price is a sticking point, although not an insurmountable one. It is close to being priced well. within the $50-$100 range. Hopefully they will lower the price somewhat once they get some out the door.
i hope you have large pockets, and walk really slowly if you plan on listening to your mp3 cd player while walking around or moving in general. Those cd players are great, if they aren't being moved around much.... Whereas the iPod fits in a shirt pocket, doesnt weigh much at all, and wont skip regardless of how much it gets jostled. Not to mention holding several times the amount of data you can put on a cd, without having to lug a cd case around.
I know this is probably highly unlikely, but if enough people start using XFree86 on their Macs, rootless or not, perhaps Apple, or a bright individual or two at Apple could see fit to make their own x-window manager, complete with a working aqua theme, for use in rootless mode. The sight of a truly seamless xfree86/Aqua experience would more than likely impress Apple techs enough to allow the project to carry on, and be officially supported. Of course, it goes without saying.... the windowmanager and theme would be proprietary, and not opensource, and would of course somehow require OSX to run. I know that will anger people, but I'm just being realistic here folks. Apple isn't going to give away their look and feel to anyone but people that buy Apple hardware, we all know this. Despite that, I think this would be a great idea, as well as one more way to market the OS, especially to scientific/academic types. Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames?
I didn't get the quicktime file, but my guess is that it is audio only as well. I don't think the mac show broadcasts video, just audio quicktime. Besides, a phone interview doesn't make for compelling video, know what I mean?
"WindowsXP supports multiple booting with MS-DOS, Windows3.1, Windows95, Windows98, WindowsNT3.51, WindowsNT4.0, and Windows2000.
" I wonder if by stating the 'supported' systems, they are leaving the door open to deny tech support later. You installed linux on your machine to dual boot alongside windowsxp? Sorry that has rendered your software warranty void. You will now be charged ungodly fees by the hour for support. Or denied support.
type 'fink install wget' it is the first thing I did using fink, as I truly like wget as well. If you have followed the instructions in the fink manual to get software working, wget will work normally. If you open fink.conf using su, and add in "unstable/main" to the line where it tells fink to look for distros, you can access many more programs that may or may not work with 10.1. Most that I have tried have worked fine, with an exception here and there.
check here for an easy to follow tutorial to get xfree86, gtk+, gimp, etc set up and running on OSX. It gives a link to download a binary for xfree86, install instructions, and tells you how to use fink to install just about anything else you could want. enjoy
They were down when I went there, so as far as I was concerned, they were down. period. Secondly, I never visit Macnn, and so I didnt know they were upgrading. I tend not to visit sites who's content consists entirely of press releases, sorry. I can check versiontracker to see new programs, I dont need a mac 'news' site to do this for me. If you would like a real news site for mac info, try macintouch, not maccentral and macnn. By the way, thanks for the quip about my intelligence... see you on the 'fora'!

I was wondering why the top half of the article said a 10 gig drive, and the bottom half kept saying 6 gig. thank you for clearing up why!
