...whether a special type of cable was used, or whether just fitting different transmitters and receivers at each end of the cable will do the job without the need for putting down an entirely new fibre optic cable?
I just wonder why the funding is coming from the CIA. Surely having another US Government organisation providing the money would be less controversial.
...what happens when the Zombie Apocalypse occurs, and a zombie is chewing on the brainzzz of your buddy, so you pick his gun up, train it on the red eyed fiend and pull the trigger. As nothing happens, the zombie breaks from his meal and stares at you hungrily....
There's only two or three operating systems still seriously in the running a) Microsoft, run by someone who is famous for throwing chairs around b) Linux, run by someone famous for throwing expletives around c) Apple, which used to be run by someone famous for ranting at his employees and firing them at the merest hint they didn't deliver.
All the ones run by cute fluffy bunnies are nowhere to be seen.
You're in a firefight, and your gun gets damaged, so you pick up the gun of your dead/wounded buddy to stay in the action, pull the trigger and go f**k as it doesn't fire at the advancing enemy hordes....
...and I have no problem using it as a phone. I tend to use my little finger to support it underneath when talking on it, but apart from that don't really notice any difference.
I'm still not sure why people want their phones paper thin. Personally I'd be happy with something twice as thick as a Note if it trebled the battery life, and possibly improved wireless/GPS reception.
Snowden is not really revealing anything that is not widely known. He's just sensationalizing it. Low level access like Snowdens is a general knowledge of whats going on. High level access would be specific knowledge of results and what those results are achieving, which it seems Snowden doesn't have.
I'd personally be a little disappointed if a Western Intelligence agency wasn't making every effort to data farm all communications in and out of the country. However the counterpoint to this is that individuals and companies should be making every effort to ensure their data and communications cannot be trivially breached.

I left out how most enterprises are STILL USING XP because Vista, 7 and 8 are all considered consumer grade operating systems by IT people.
In fairness, 7 is quite a good product. Maybe its like Star Trek in reverse; only odd numbered releases are any good.
I'm happy with DD (2D?), but prefer C myself.

Blessed be His Noodly Appendages
...so they can work out who they need to surrender to this time.
Yes, but I'm old enough to recall the story doing the rounds about 20 years ago.
I'm sure that it has happened more than once in real life - the opportunity for fun is just too good to pass up.
Explained here
...this story has been doing the rounds in many similar forms since the birth of the Internet
Looks to be competively priced (about £350/$500) 2560x1600, 29" IPS with very narrow bezel and USB Hub.
I could see a case for gamers/developers having one of these and two smaller screens to either side...
You are in a maze of twisty little functions, all alike
There goes the xbox.
As long as the Xbox isn't on a chair, it'll be fine.....
Someone not aware of Gilligans Island?
she finds out I used to write marine GPS software...
..... to the fithes!
I'll have a yacht.
Anyway personally speaking I'd rather go out with a smile and a laugh than sobbing hordes.
