To be fair, a large portion of the US electorate doesn't have US interests in mind either when they go to the voting booths. They dont have anything in mind except for the latest talking points on their favorite newschannel.

  10. Are there other actions .... on EFF, PubPat Each Seeking Some Patent Sanity · · Score: 1

Are there other actions that are more likely to work?

I recommend making a huge blockbuster movie that has a stupid patent at heart of a world-wide catastrophe. The world is saved at the very last moment by a brave low-level USPTO examiner (good-looking one, of course, if such exist). This could also work for the story about spam and bounty proposal.

  20. iPods vs iScream on iPod-Jacked · · Score: 1

You know, the article inspired me. I love Ben&Jerry's iScream. So today I was walking down the street licking my rocky road cone, and then I saw this pretty lady walking toward me doing same, also B&J's. We made iContact and I offered her to have a lick of mine.

Unfortunately, it didn't work as well as with iPods in the article. She refused to reciprocate. I only got to sniff some of her pepper spray, that's all.

The comment about charged batteries is not as silly as it may seem. During the blackout my iBook was the only source of light. I had moved recently and didn't have any candles here. Good thing the battery lasted 2+ hours after I spent half a day trying to find a working wi-fi source in Manhattan.
