    With a mixture of CCTV and mobile phone emissions it quite easy to track someone within modern cities. Of course you could just cover yourself in tinfoil but that might attract even more attention

    Am I the only one who finds this worrying. 6% of the disk is for error correction. Thats quite a high figure I feel for something that is meant to be reliable

    OK performace might not be that hot but if it can fill a 100Mb ethernet connection then its going to work fine as a small office backup/storage system with RAID 1. Sometimes big and slow is better than fast and small.

    This is where procmail comes in handy to just drop anything that hits the server and not DOS dialup lines. OK its not perfect but it helps cut down traffic slightly

    One thing a console does is isn't-ish gratification. IF I want to play GTA I put in the CD and play. With the PC I have to wait for it to load. put in the CD extra. I'm not saying PC's are better but if you haven't already got it running the consoles can be good

    Well ext3 might suck but when you've only got a resuce system that can read ext2 it can really save your neck. I would be intrested to see what is best in terms of stability though..

    I've been using 2.6.0-test4-mm4 daily without problems. No glitches. The 2.6.0 kernel has real improvments in the shape of Alsa being mainstream. Also the I/O schedular + interactivity is much better under load than the 2.4 kernel.

    Of course however I won't be putting 2.6 into production use until at least 2.6.8 or there abouts to make sure there are no nasty surprises in there

    At the end of the day its my choice if I want to speak to someone. If someone in the street says hi and I don't want to speak to them I won't. Also if I put a sign round my neck saying "Don't speak to me", as its my right I would like to think people would respect that.

    If I do the same on my phone and say I only want people who I know or need to speak to contact me why shouldn't I be allowed? If I want to speak to someone about a product I will call them

    In the UK there is something similar called the TPS (Telephone Protection System) which actually does work but the again we don't have the implicit right to free speech
