With a mixture of CCTV and mobile phone emissions it quite easy to track someone within modern cities. Of course you could just cover yourself in tinfoil but that might attract even more attention
Article is/. but one thing worthy of note is that the copy protection on Gamecube also involves spinning the CD the wrong way round. To make a Linux distro you are going to need a very special CD burner
I remeber a nice time when at SGI (when they did do graphics) a senior manager asked the head of the support center what GFX was. He didn't quite understand when everyone laughed when he said storage. Well it was funny at the time
"Four of them are used, raising capacity to around 320 GB. However, "only" 300 GB is used - the remainder is probably reserved for error correction. "
Am I the only one who finds this worrying. 6% of the disk is for error correction. Thats quite a high figure I feel for something that is meant to be reliable
OK performace might not be that hot but if it can fill a 100Mb ethernet connection then its going to work fine as a small office backup/storage system with RAID 1. Sometimes big and slow is better than fast and small.
This is where procmail comes in handy to just drop anything that hits the server and not DOS dialup lines. OK its not perfect but it helps cut down traffic slightly
Well TBH as much as I would like intellgent clothing which these clothes just remind me of saftey suits used in nuclear reactor. Now I know fashion designers live on cloud9 but if they look at the target market of geeks who will be the first adopters it ain't going to help
This is all nice and everything however I don't think for one second it will cut down the amount of red tape the british public has to go through to get anything out of the goverment/local councils
One thing a console does is isn't-ish gratification. IF I want to play GTA I put in the CD and play. With the PC I have to wait for it to load. put in the CD extra. I'm not saying PC's are better but if you haven't already got it running the consoles can be good
These are nice, pretty boxes but I can't wonder how long after modders have got there hands on them they will have twin exausts and go faster stripes. By doing that they should be able to get to at least 4Ghz:)
Well you can help but think that the student knew the trick that if you hold shift when you insert a CD into Windows it will stop the autoplay. I would guess that is what happened here
Well ext3 might suck but when you've only got a resuce system that can read ext2 it can really save your neck. I would be intrested to see what is best in terms of stability though..
You have to wonder if with the LOTR there will be breaks or will people just have to step out in the middle of films. Now if they were cut together as one large epic that would be cool.
I've been using 2.6.0-test4-mm4 daily without problems. No glitches. The 2.6.0 kernel has real improvments in the shape of Alsa being mainstream. Also the I/O schedular + interactivity is much better under load than the 2.4 kernel.
Of course however I won't be putting 2.6 into production use until at least 2.6.8 or there abouts to make sure there are no nasty surprises in there
At the end of the day its my choice if I want to speak to someone. If someone in the street says hi and I don't want to speak to them I won't. Also if I put a sign round my neck saying "Don't speak to me", as its my right I would like to think people would respect that.
If I do the same on my phone and say I only want people who I know or need to speak to contact me why shouldn't I be allowed? If I want to speak to someone about a product I will call them
In the UK there is something similar called the TPS (Telephone Protection System) which actually does work but the again we don't have the implicit right to free speech
five.org.uk I'm not going to say any more

I agree but I would think this drive is aimed at people wanting RAID. Then again 3x120Gb drives woul d be cheaper

PS2 + Linux Kit + USB Keyboard and mouse gives a socially acceptable Linux machine in the front room 300. Now thats something to smile about :)
