What exactly do you think is going to happen if you do?
I'm not a good enough coder to look at the code and check for backdoors, etc. for Linux.
In OSX, it'll probably ask for the admin password, whcih I won't give it.
In my Windows box, I'd have to assume that it would be pwn'ed if I forgot to turn off autorun.
Still want to bet on the iPod's supremacy when Joe Sixpack will be able to walk by a Cingular kisok and pick up a phone that has that kind of storage, no DRM lock-in, and a service plan that makes it cost about a hundred bucks?
Will Cingular's lock-in be any better than the DRM lock-in?
Lowest common denominator? So we should set the limit so that a drunk first-year driver can drive a barely-safe car with bald tires in heavy traffic in a snowstorm? (To take your example the the opposite extreme.) Perhaps instead they should use proper engineering techniques like the 85th percentile rule to set the limits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_limit
Sorry to hear about you trashing your cam. Do you know of drivers that work for it? I have a 67014, and didn't have much luck last time I looked. (Admittedly, I haven't tried in a while.)
"The punitive nature of the signal on Vineyard appears to have the united support of neighbors and the Police Department, which hasn't seen an unusual number of accidents on the route but envisions a low-cost way to make people feel safe."
Great, people driving at the speed that they're comfortable with, and no unusual amount of accidents. Now the town is going to create a way to slow down drivers so that people can "feel" safe. Waste of time and money. If there were a lot of accidents caused by excessive speed, this would make sense.

About the *only* things Apple has going for itself right now is.... (2) the iApps, which are very easy to use, but I bet Microsoft or someone else will copy them soon enough,
Wonderful reasoning. They'll copy you anyway, so why not move into thier market.
Good post, but to nitpick: I mean, referring to one of Billy Joel's classics would've been a fine thing for american audiences, but they had to call it "The Movie"?
Knockin on Heaven's Door is a Bob Dylan, not Billy Joel song.
Wow, you are referring to Microsoft as M$. I wish I had thought of that. How clever of you.
Wow, you're bitching about someone referring to Microsoft as M$. How interesting.

This is a weird thread. CDs have only gone up slightly in price over the last decade, and yet there are people moaning about how expensive they are.
The problem is, when CDs first came out,the prices were outrageous, and we were told: "Price are high now, but as soon as volume gets up there close to cassettes, production prices will drop, and CDs will be cheaper." What a load of crap. Prices have continuously gone up, despite the fact that now CD volumes are higher than ever, and have been for years. Fron $10-12 in the late 80's up to the $16-20 that they go for now.
What annoys me is the increase in size of straws. If you don't get the mega cup, your drink is gone very quickly.
You could always just try to suck less.:)
and it was included in the 2035 Uncle Albert's catalog... I should dig up the old issue of Autoduel Quarterly with my name on it and go for prior art...
If it was in the 2035 catalog, it wouldn't be PRIOR art, would it?

But am I willing to put a CD from cDc in my machine? I think not.

Solid.

Just an idea.
Or perhaps it is marked at that speed artifically low to increase revenue for the town.

Fun game, with scrabble-like wordplay, but with cards.
You're kidding, right? I'm sure that they'll be paying Gates for a patent on it.

I had it up and running until living arrangements forced me to put it in storage. As soon as I move, it's back out for DTP, mail, and my CD database.
