Why are there so few co-op games? Too many games focus on the competitive aspect of multi-players games too much. It seems to me that if the single player part of a game is nice, it would be easy to turn it into a great coop game but instead the developers often build a multi-player option that is completely different than the single player option.
Hydro have it's drawbacks but I am not talking about just one city but the whole province and unless I am mistaken Ontario is a big hydroelectricity producer too. I don't know anyone who lives near a power plant. The bulk of the energy is produced around James's bay and it's distributed throughout the country by high tension lines. We even sell a good amount of our electricity to the USA which is kinda far from the plant.
Only two viable sources of energy? Here in Quebec 97% of our power comes from hydroelectricity. Why would you only use fossil fuels and nuclear when cleaner and cheaper sources are available?
No, sv_cheats 1 enables cheats on the client only allowing the modification of cheat protection variables locally. When you connect to a server with sv_cheats 0 every variable protected with the cheat flag will be reset.
It may all be true but it's not like poker works. As many pointed out, in poker you play against the other players, not the house. The house has a fixed rake which is actually pretty low in online games.
I don't consider myself a pro player and i don't intend to make a fortune playing online poker but in the last 4 months i have been playing my $50 investment turned into $200. I can't make a living with that but it sure beats playing WoW and losing $15 per month.
The trick is to never overplay your bankroll. I didn't make $150 with one lucky gamble on a $50 game. I made it by playing about 300 games. I lost some, sometimes 2 weeks in a row but in the long run good play will net you money.
Never play money that what you can't afford to lose. It's as simple as that.
Consoles just can't offer the same gaming experience as a PC mostly because of two game genres. FPS and MMORPGs. As long as there are people playing those games, PC gaming is staying alive.
I cringe at the idea of playing WoW with only a handfull of buttons for abilities or Quake with a controler pad.
Also, let's not forget how crappy most TVs are next to computer displays.
Actualy, you should prepare a paper that everyone who is minor has to make his parents sign if you don't want to get into legal troubles.
If you don't do this some kids will go to your lan without asking their parents and some can complain that you have let them play PG rated games or even sue you.
I think we can call this publicity. Of course it cost them $0.25 or something for everyone who call just to hear the duck but most peoples who called will remember the company name.
Adding contextual menus is a mistake Apple made. They did it just because Windows had it and users were lost when they first used a Mac. It's one of the think in the MacOS that shouldn't be here. It's slow because it's badly implemented and not intuitive at all.
Anyway, there is always another way to do it, wich is usualy faster and more intuitive.
For many peoples the data is far more important than the computer itself. I got insurance for the hardware but there is no way i could loose a day of work.

You seem to be trying to launch a nuclear attack. Would you like to do one of the following:
Abort, Retry, Fail?

In the article the author wrote Ceci n'est pas une pipe.
I just find it funny that in french this could mean: This is not a blow job.
Sorry, I had to say it.
If all DVD drives in computers can read CD-R and CD-RW, why does home DVD can't do the same?
The only reason I see is that it cost a bit more to make drives read everything.
They sure have the technology to make good lazer, they just don't use it.

It's not as stupid as it sounds...
I think it has been mentioned before but some stores already sell their PC with a Linux distro installed.
The store that I think sell the most PC in montreal (Microbytes and no i don't work there, it's just a nice shop.) sell their PC with RedHad.
Last time I bough a PC there the vendor asked me if I wanted Corel linux before asking me if I wanted windows.
Some computer stores still care...
A top 10 list like that that doesn't include the Woz let me suspicious...
In most case the color of the machine doesn't realy matter but the colors in the OS does.
For many graphic professional it's verry important that the windows are neutral grey. Graphite is verry close to that.
