For you comic book geeks in the audience, this is sort of like those old "What would happen if the Unstoppable Juggernaut met the Unmovable Blob?", or "Who's faster, Superman or the Flash?" questions.
Yeah, because Big Business was really on the run during the Clinton years.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: The quicker we all figure out that both Democrats(Liberals) and Republicans(Conservatives) are both in it to fuck over the common man, the better off we'll all be.
Hell, they were selling them on one of the home shopping channels! My wife bought me one for my birthday last year.
They're actually not too bad; some fun games on them. But they are obviously hack jobs; one game labled as "Super Mario Brothers" was in actuality one of those hacked versions of SMB with Mario running around naked. Check those ROM's guys!
Yeah, I know, I was close to being able to do that (28), but just lost steam. I probably wouldn't have wanted to be a BST anyway, was looking more towards Paladin.
In the end, what really ticked me off the most was that at higher levels, there just wasn't really any middle ground. You either had to have your static/linkshell to get you your Rank3+ quests and 1000+ exp an hour, or you were stuck killing crabs for 50xp a shot. I mean, I can understand if it takes a good solid group of 6 to go finish some of the major quests and such. In my case, I had a RL friend with a WHM, whom I had leveled up with almost exclusively throughout the game. Occasionally we'd party with some others and what not, but most of the time it just wasn't worth the effort. I'm not going to sit around for an hour waiting to find a good party when I can only play for 3 hours or so during an evening. But because we didn't want to go through this hassle, we were stuck leveling on pathetic creatures we could handle for minimal exp.
Again, not saying that encouraging players to cooperate is necessarily a bad thing. I just wish FFXI would have catered a little more to the single player, BST aside.
Dropped FFXI a couple weeks ago after about 8 months of play, and have been really looking forward to WoW.
I really liked FFXI, but in the end the time sink required for this game was just too much for me. SE's insistance on making FFXI a true multiplayer experience was certainly inspired, but in the end was just too hard on the "casual" gamer like myself. Past level 20 it's almost impossible to level efficiently or to get anything meaningful accomplished without the help of 5 or more other players, which really requires a lot of time meeting and maintaining game relationships. Again, for those with the time to do this the game is wonderful, but those of us who can only put a few hours a week into the game, or perhaps have one or two real life friends they only want to play with, really find ourselves at a disadvantage.
It's my hope that WoW is a little better in this respect. From what I understand the majority of experience in the game comes from doing quests of various kinds? Hopefully many of these quests can be done solo if one wants to.
If it was merely about hacking, they could just ban by instance of hacking, not potential to hack.
Yeah, let's hire several dozen full-time technicians to continually ban and re-ban individual players who are cheating, rather than just taking care of the problem in one fell swoop by banning modified XBoxes.
I think this should be obvious, given the rise of "legitimate" music sites like iTunes none too eager to use MP3 as their format of choice. But MP3 will always be around, given the thousands of people out there who have vast hoards of MP3 collections from the heady days of Napster 1.0.
You are absolutely correct. And then, board your magical Unicorn for the Leprechan base on the Dark Side of the Moon, where you will eat naught but Space Wine and Space Cheese!
It loads up in Firefox OK for me. Probably does not search Firefox cache though.
On first blush one thing seems troubling though: it seems to run as a pseudo-web page service via 127.0.0.1:4664; hopefully this doesn't expose an open port to the outside world?
You had mailboxes? Our family had to hand-deliver our mail to the post office: which was 25 miles into town. While it wasn't uphill both ways, invariably the horse would die of exposure while you waited in line at the post office for 4 hours, and you had to haul his carcass on your back to the farm for burial.
That's a great analogy, if music is a commodity with no difference between the various types of songs produced by artists.

No, Macs aren't overpriced against other name-brand manufacturers. (I'll grant you that if you build your own and zealously look for bargains you can build a slightly cheaper PC.)
You really need to stop buying your PC's and PC equipment at Tiffany's.
Pre-Crisis! Oh, sorry, blacked out there for a second.

That means I get Nov 26 to play this game all day. Thank you Blizzard!

Wow, great info, thanks to all who have replied to this thread.
This is good news from my perspective. A few questions, if you don't mind, about the types of quests that are typical:
- Are we just talking about your garden variety FedEx/Ghostbusters type stuff for the most part?
- How long timewise does a typical quest take? Can most be accomplished within an hour, or can you expect to go all night completing one quest?

Explorer: You've got to start charging more than a dollar a bag. We lost two men on this expedition!
Apu: If you can think of a better way to get ice, I'd like to hear it!
This is hardly Nintendo's first attempt at "suggestive advertising":
"Octorocs, Tectites, and Leevers too
But with your help our hero pulls through!"
Sick!
The code to destroy the base is IDKFA.

My thought exactly. All this device is is some elitist fucks ass waiting to be kicked.
Another vote for RAdmin. I use it to manage all my Windows servers.

What I want to know is, when is a new TFC going to be available?
I didn't figure Google would be that stupid, but you never know I guess. Can you imagine hacks that would have come from that though?

One reason that I'm not in IT is beause of the people.
From all of us in IT, thank you.
Dude, WTF?
