OK, so you can't bind lock screen to [WIN]-L, it shows but doesn't work. To be fair (or unfair) that's been like that for the last _2_versions_.
If you enable compiz you get [win]-[tab] which looks nice and is an alternative to [alt]-[tab]. [win]-[shift]-[tab] works too, but compiz breaks [alt]-[shift]-[tab] which I find frankly unbelievable.
OK if you are a cyber bully, your actions are automatically documented, which is not necessarily the case with traditional bullying. So enforcement should be easier, whether that should be by the school, or if it's out of hours, the police. Of course if its defamatory you can sue them too.
BTW My mum is a school secretary and she says they always gets agro from parents about bullying that happens outside of school.
URL verification can be done with hashes and other techniques that do not invade privacy I was thinking you'd need a database, so either communicate your url or download whole thing, your right about the hashes tho, kudos.
No, the evil comes from the data being taken without informed consent. Of course in this case, the data isn't taken without your concent.
Well I hate apple, but I can't see as iTunes with very little overheads takes more of a percentage of the profits than what shops take on phsical media.
What in the Kernel (the only place really that Torvalds has anything to do with Linux) makes it impossible for Linux to enter the mainstream... Maybe some slight license wranglings about attaching proprietory drivers to the kernel (this seems to be becoming less of an issue anyway). Some of the current(?) scheduling stuff might be relevant too, but these are _very_ minor.
Yes your right, it in effect becomes a composite work, with multiple licenses, some of which is BSD, some of which is GPL. The work as a whole does in-effect become GPL (as it's more restrictive), but it's still BSD too, and as such must keep the notice intact (Don't MS move it down the the bottom of the file?). But the lines/words which were BSD, remain so, as does the lines/words that are GPL.
I bought a 360 for it, I loved it, one of the best game experiences I've ever played. But I was expecting more. Judge it as a FPS and it's astounding, but I was hoping for more more storyline and decision making that goes beyond "Harvest or Save" and "What weapon do I want". The first time I encountered a little sister I thought about what to do for a while (Harvested) but after that, well I harvested every time, and that was it. I never felt morally challenged and even when I made that decision I didn't have any attachment to any particular group. System Shock was a far better RPG with a better (or maybe just more emotive for me) storyline. None of these games comes close to Deus Ex in my eyes, because that challenged you morally all the way through it, Even Invisible War (Deus Ex 2) did this.
I am a little disappointed, but it's still 5/5 IMHO.
PHP5 is a language, the other two are frameworks. So it can't really be compared. The Zend Framework is a very non-limiting non-rigid framework (it's much more like a bunch of really good libraries atm) which might make the comparison viable.
If you need HDD writing etc, you could use Virtualization and setup a config so when it's rebooted a virgin image is copied over the top of the one they just messed up (VMWare have a web browsing appliance if I remember rightly). Alternatively a LiveCD might do the trick!
Well if you set up a monopoly it will be abused, you need very strong regulators to keep anything clean. Doesn't matter if its a state run monopoly (NHS, BT (before privatisation), British Rail etc) or a granted monopoly.
All very well applying for SDK documentation for the protocol specs, but I'm guessing you can't then expose that documentation to other developers, which just isn't really OSS.
Best music is done by people who just want to play. It may well be destroying it commercially, but who ever said it was good for companies to own our culture?
But you have a constitution, which is often used to repeal bad laws. England does not, We even ripped up our innocent till proven guilty thing a few years ago.
You make a good point, The mortgage thing has shaken down market nuttiness a lot. Liquidity is pretty down atm, so the investors are less likely to just throw it at any.com company, mostly anything computer/internet is risky, but at least people have to have propper business plans now. Another thing is the rise of Sovereign Funds, they want big blue chips @10%py, not huge risk tiny start-ups.
yes it's virtical, and white, but it is not really that similar at all.
I think generally it's accepted that you have to be using the domain, otherwise it's assumed your a squatter.

It's gotta be said that you are very very very right.
Haven't Amazon said they won't use patents to stomp on little guys publically, I remember a story in O'Reilly...
The fact the USPO is **** is no longer news.
Driving doesn't cause death... if your careful. Typing doesn't cause carpal tunnel, if your careful, amazing isn't it.
Yeh, Buy what you already have... But that's ok, because you can give it away.
OK it works for the UK too, unlike Apple...
Because the "cost of doing business in the UK is higher" songs from Apple are _twice_ as expensive than in the US.
All I have to do to use Amazon is get a Zip code that fits in a selected state and bob's your uncle! Half price music!

Some people are so stupid.

The practicality of the issue, is _nothing_ to do with the law.
Best music is done by people who just want to play. It may well be destroying it commercially, but who ever said it was good for companies to own our culture?
You have no clue what your talking about.
DMCA It's about tools to crack (which it makes illegal), it's got nothing to do with your right to have a backup copy.
But you have a constitution, which is often used to repeal bad laws. England does not, We even ripped up our innocent till proven guilty thing a few years ago.
Saw and Hostel, neither of which has been banned.
