invariably you will find yourself getting cheated unless you compare your statements month to month. Every utility I ever had for more than a year has made at least one mistake, but there are some that seem to do it routinely as an extra source of income from the "trash everything that comes in crowd".
While I am at it, always check your receipt at the grocery store. I have found that greater than half the time I go, there's at least one mistake. Most stores have scan guarantees. I've had 25 bucks knocked of a $100 grocery bill due to their blunders before.
Where the hell do you live? I've had comcast make a mistake on a bill once, and that was a mistake on applying a promotion. I called them once and they fixed it for good. I have never had a cashier make a mistake at the grocery store that they didn't catch themselves before I could even bring it up. Sounds like you are surrounded by incompetent people.
It's 7 years if you don't file and 3 years if you do file. So you need to keep the records for 7 years in case they claim you didn't file in the first place! But once you can show you filed, they can't audit you for something more than 3 years old.
Yeah my high school sweetheart wanted me to go to Biola with her. I was pretty indifferent about it, so I applied and got in. We broke up not too long after that. I refused to pay $120k for 4 years of education and she got pissed. I went to a state school and walked away spending about $30k after cost of living.
My impression is that RIM phones are kinda like Jags. You buy them to 'show off' that you're a buisinessy type.
OMG my boss to the tee. I was in a conference call with him a couple of weeks ago and he was giving the guy his contact info. Here's how it went:
Boss: If you need to reach me you can call me on my blackberry at 555-555-1212
Guy: Ok so that is your cell phone number?
Boss: Yes that is my blackberry number.
Come on. Can't you just call it a cellphone like everyone else?
I am running two 460 GTXs in SLI and am not having any heat problems (the cards stay around 40C at idle and 50-55C maxed). I also don't have any problems with my dual monitor config. Finally, turning SLI on and off is as simple as right clicking on the desktop, selecting the NVidia control panel, and going to SLI and hitting disable. I can't see that taking longer than about 10 seconds.
Of course I am going to do it through FSU. I just think its ridiculous that they intentionally try to game it so you can't work and do the on campus MBA program. And if you ask them about it, they tell you they intentionally make the schedule so you can't work full time and study on campus for that program. Not the right behavior from a public institution, IMHO.
Maybe his, but what about his parents and grandparents? If everyone was getting out less than they paid in we wouldn't have problems with SS funding. Either way, all 8 of us kids are contributing taxes to the coffers, which will benefit him more than if we hadn't been educated at all.
You do realize that if public universities didn't charge tuition then the cost of education would come out of the taxpayers pockets. As somebody who has no college-age children I can tell you I don't want higher taxes so that I can subsidize the education of somebody whose parents had 10 kids.
As the youngest child of 8 kids, and a college grad to boot, my parents would happily give you a reimbursement on the money you spent on my education if you give them a refund against your social security. Oh wait, you want me to pay for your social security, don't you?
You want to see ridiculous? Look at UF's MBA program. If you attend on campus, it costs about $18,000 for a degree. If you do it over the internet, the charge you an amazing $42,000-$52,000. I work within a reasonable driving distance of UF and wanted to attend on campus. The problem is that they intentionally schedule the classes so that you cannot possibly work and attend the on campus program. If you are working, they want you to pay $42,000. They raise the price about $2k every year. It seems like the only requirement to getting in is to have your check clear, too. It's asinine. I can get the same online program from FSU for $18,000.
Thanks for the information. Slashdot should adopt a policy, like Wikipedia, that all measurement units should be metric with the alternatives in parenthesis. This way, everybody would be happy. Slashdot has editors. Is it so hard for them to fix this?
I'm sorry but that is the most asinine comment I have read all day. All month even. What's the point of using the metric system when we have the Library of Congress system. If you're dealing with something that cannot be converted to the Library of Congress system, then it must not be worth mentioning.
I was just kidding. I don't actually repair typewriters. I was trying to be funny. Not my specialty. That's why I work in training simulations and not on comedy central.
Don't worry, my typewriter repair business will never close. People will always need someone to fix their typewriters. Plus, I can't really afford to retire.
That was my first thought. How many people are losing money due to the outage? I'm surprised Amazon is making light of the situation.
Someone posted that as a forum topic in their support forums. Amazon went in there to try and respond to everyone to let them know that they were working on fixing the issue. So naturally, he had no choice but to tell the customer that skynet was not, in any way, involved with the problem.
That is interesting. I installed iTunes prior to installing service pack 3, so perhaps SP3 had the iPhone drivers in it? Cause when I first got my iPhone it would sync on Vista (ugh) but not on XP w/o iTunes.
Did you RTFA? They are already under investigation for using $250,000 of government money to provide "company cars" to employees and had to repay over $3M to the Federal government after they were found to have mismanaged federal unemployment funds. Something tells me this isn't just a marketing campaign. They were doing someone a favor.
Yeah I figured this out the hard way when I wanted to charge my iphone at work. I installed itunes and plugged it in and, without any prompting, immediately backed everything up to my work computer. I was less than thrilled. THankfully you can tell it not to start iTunes for a specific device, but if iTunes is open it still will sync and backup automagically. And it was all because iPods and iPhones won't charge on Windows XP unless the driver from iTunes is installed.
You recall incorrectly. You can take anyone's iphone and back it up to your iTunes so long as there is no screen lock. The backup does not transfer any music.
Ahh I remember when I got my first HDTV (it was a CRT, can you believe that?). There was very little in the way of HDTV broadcast. Only random major sporting events, like MNF. I turned it to MNF one time just to see how great it looked in HDTV and saw John Madden staring at me, looking like a mother effing zombie. It was years before I had the heart to turn it back to MNF. They've gotten much better at doing makeup for the HD world, at least.
Hell, TV shows have started showing "last time on..." flashbacks just to make sure that people remember what happened in the last episode.
It's worse than you think. There are plenty of shows, reality and otherwise, that have a recap of what happened before the last commercial break. It drives me nuts. I can remember what was going on 5 minutes ago, thank you very much! It just makes it feel like they are trying to stretch 5 minutes worth of content into a 42 minute show!

Not sure if this is relevant but I once worked on a recording device for FA/18s.
The communists have now won. What were you thinking telling the whole world the size and shape of the FA-18 flight recorder?

Hey I paid AT&T $1.50 for a phone call that I let go to voicemail while I was in Germany. Can you believe that? I didn't even answer the damned call!

Sorry, I didn't mean sync, I meant charge. When I bought my iPhone 3G, you could not charge it on XP without drivers.

Honestly, the quality is too good -

They are only used as a unit of energy for explosives in the sense that a 1-kiloton explosion is the equivalent of 1000 tons of dynamite.
