But we know that there is data mining going on with the iPhone. There are advertising networks that developers use to handle their in-app ads and those networks have been mining peoples data since 2.0 first came out.
Try doing contracts for the Federal government. We have to write documents for documents for the love of God! And of course we have to use advanced formatting for all of them. None of the formatting we use is supported by Google docs.
If the owner doesn't want it and nobody bids on it at the auction, you get the right to retitle it.
In California the owner of a tow yard is allowed to transfer a certain number of cars to immediate relatives per year w/o an auction. My roommate in college was the son of a tow yard operator. The best was when he got that car with hydraulics installed...
I don't know how this works on PS3 but on the Xbox 360 this is all linked to your gamer tag and you can access the content from any xbox so long as you log into XBL with your account.
EA actually already does this with Battlefield Bad Company 2. They call it VIP access and you get some map packs for free by having the VIP code that comes with the original purchase. Its $5 to buy VIP access after you buy the game used. So, there is nothing new about this and nothing limiting it to EA Sports games.
That's a big negatory buddy. It's quite illegal to disable advertised functionality in a product after someone buys it. I'm sure there are a handful of laws in CA that this violates, including bait and switch laws. As mentioned before, Sony offered this to try and get around VAT taxes in the EU. Taxes are lower for a general computing device than for a video game console. If you ask me, the EU ought to hit Sony for tax evasion, too.
It's only easier the first time around. If you have to install XP again and wait for it to load 3rd party drivers off a floppy it can get tedious. Then, while you're at it, you can make a completely automated install with the latest security updates.
Why not just slipstream the drivers into your XP install disk? That's what I did for my SATA drivers. Then you can install it all you want without dealing with loading 3rd party drivers. It does it automatically. The whole process takes like 30 minutes.
Actually Amazon did this with Bioshock 2. I still haven't had the chance to play either but I picked up both for $50 from Amazon right after release. That was for the 360.
I'm pretty sure most people on here were children at some point and probably are quite familiar with the situation you are describing. If our parents survived without in-car entertainment systems surely modern day parents can as well?
They may audit you for 7 years if you failed to file your return and 3 years if you did file. At least that is on a Federal level. Most states adopt the federal laws for these sorts of things, if I am not mistaken.
I would say that his review is pretty unfair just because I haven't seen a single text intensive website have a problem with overlapping fonts. Not NY Times, Slashdot, Slickdeals, his own website, or anything else. Did he ever think that perhaps the website was doing something that wasn't correct and that is why it is misrendering?
As for his clumsy link clicking? The guy is totally biased here. Opera does not even let you click a link unless you're zoomed in. When you touch the screen it zooms into that spot. I think that's a hell of a lot more intuitive and easier than pinch zooming in. I cant' tell you how often I click the wrong link in Safari when there are several links in a column.
But I did notice that when I have the phone turned sideways I can zoom in and out of the page. This is definitely a bug, but it never bothers me. I find it so annoying to try and hold the phone in landscape mode anyway, unless I have two hands on it.
This "anonymous guy" is actually the CEO of Adobe trying to mine slashdot's swarm of self taught lawyers in order to drum up material for the suit in question.
Well I think the main difference is that judges are supposed to follow the law as its written and not sway to public sentiment. The legislative branch is supposed to be the voice of the people.
Except that once people see they can get money back on their purchase they will go after it even if they never intended to use that feature. And why not? Sony shouldn't be removing features. It affects resale value.
Sony removed the Other OS feature a while ago. This is a completely different issue, my friend. He had the Other OS option and Sony removed it via a mandatory (if you play online) software update.
I posted this above but am pasting it down here as I thought you might find my analysis of the video interesting:
At 3:40 there is a guy with what appears to be an RPG. The guy standing next to him at this portion of the clip is clearly carrying a rifle. At 3:44 you can see him turn and see it's clearly identifiable it as an RPG. At 4:07 you can see a second individual peering around the corner of the stone wall with another RPG. At 4:16 it appears that the guy is following the movement of the helicopter as it circles. At 4:18 it appears that the man is trying to aim the RPG at the helicopter from behind cover of the building. At 4:51 you see them open up on the entire group, including the reporters.

Wow I need to get out of mom's basement more often. When did this happen? Does that mean we're not on 1st Edition D&D now, too?

I wish my iphone battery lasted me all day. Is using it as a paper weight considered heavy usage?
wow! You can keep your open source plumbing! I don't want to have a look at the source of anything you'll find in there!

Hey I'd consider myself to be a more conservative individual but I would support a pirate party here in the US.

That's a little bit different than thousands of laymen writing the judge. Also amicus curiae is supposed to use legal arguments.

From watching the video I really got the impression that they were using the footage as a fundraising campaign. I was not impressed either.
Uhh they aren't even a km away from the targets here. Look at the display on the video, they are approximately 850m away when they open fire.
