Forgive me, but I've just got to rant for a moment. Is it just me or does it seem that no one has been able to come up with an original idea for the last 20 years. It seems like I can't go a week without hearing about some game, movie or cartoon being "re-envisioned" by some post-gen-x hack that either: thinks that they genuinely have something to contribute to the meme (but never do), or more often, are purely motivated by a whorish greed to make another pile of cash off of a previously established money-maker.

you've never worked for at&t or one of its indentured servent out-source pits o' hell (but ask me how i really feel about them sometime).

like most major corporations, at&t outsources the majority of its customer service and tech support jobs to (in their words) concentrate on the core business, but which actually translates into "pay the shlubs slave wages whilst we quietly destroy the company through shotty business practices and poor management.

  14. avoid the problem altogether on Windows Refund Day II · · Score: 5, Insightful

I really don't get the people that are in a huff over this. You've seen from past examples that Microsoft and the OEMS aren't going to honor that EULA, and frankly, more power too them. Its just going to tick people off so much that they either build their own (which is the real solution to this problem) or go with a reseller that wil provide whatever OS you feel like running (there are plenty out there).

I think you're being a bit short-sighted on the practical applications of a technology like this. Its an old idea (nan-caplets of what amounts to glue that break and form temporary bonds) and functions in much the same way that a broken bone heals itself. so why not "paint" every metal surface, including the engine parts. while this obviously wouldn't work for every mechanical failure, it sure as hell would cut down on the damage done by someone not changing their oil every 3000 miles (which by the way is grossly excessive).
