I have a few ideas on what they could do with it. They could bring it up, take it apart and see how everything held up after being submerged for so long or perhaps take at the nuclear material and put it on display in one of the smithsonians.
#5) Game stability, server performance and non-crash level bugs (like spawning as a wall) are second priority to releasing new material which will cost you more money.
The whole expansion thing never made sense to me. Arn't you supposed to be paying $10-$15 a month for new content? Why should anyone have to buy an expansion for new content?
Every time there is an article on spam there are always 500 people saying why that method won't work. Bendelo has laid out the argument options and selected those that apply so that the other 499 people won't have to waist their time and ours.
The real purpose of calling the number is to annoy the telemarketers. Calling collect makes it even more annoying and it saves you from getting charged for the call.:)
All I can say is its about time something like this is passed. I'm sick of getting tons of phone calls for crap i don't want. Now if they could only stop the mass of credit card applications my wife and i get every day...
They actually have a very good reason for doing this. They are making a clone of the windows software and that is exactly what the windows software does. As another poster pointed out you can change this behavior in your preferences or use an away message so that the windows don't pop up when you are busy.
Because its really not that hard to get a registration. I mean you don't have to use real info and once you get it you can have it set a cookie so you never have to log in again. Quit being such a whiner.
Good luck trying to get AOL to play nicely with everyone else. They know they have the largest base of IM users and do everything in their power to keep it that way.
In short, its not the delivery medium that matters, it all comes down to the value of the content
That has to be the biggest bunch of crap i've ever read! The whole point of free speach is to stop people from being censored etc just because other people think their content is valueless. In fact I consider throwing paint on someones valuable property a very poor form of speach while making prints of politicians to cut up a rather good form of speach. We have the first amendment so that both forms are protected.
The whole point of the article was that there are many things that could really use to be changed but arn't because they would break compatibility with older versions of java.
Sure, many of you don't like the idea of immigrants, even though 99.9% of you (in the US) are descended from immigrants
When you get right down to it we are all children of immigrants. Just because many of us in the united states have immigrated more recently doesn't mean that we want people flooding into the country by the millions.
If cd's were more resonably priced I think more people would buy them. I can go out and get a casset for around $10 where a cd would cost me around $20 usually. Cd's are cheaper and easier to make than cassets and they are no longer new technology. The only reason they are so expensive is because RIAA makes them that way with their oligopoly.
"Normal users" are in general not as computer savy as they were in the MsDos and early windows days. Also in the cases of the autoexec.bat and other files there were only 3 or 4 files you needed to modify to do anything. With linux, on the other hand, every little program seems to have 3 or four files hidden randomly throughout the file system that you have to modify to make it do what you want.
After more hours than I will admit to, I still think freeciv beats the shorts out of civ3.
Have you even played civ3? It's gameplay is better than freciv after you get used to the changes and graphically it kicks the crap out of freeciv. Seriously for being one of "the best" games out there for linux they really need to do some thing about those graphics.
#1: No best browser He claims that Mozilla/Galeon can't do AA. This is untrue. Add the following to your prefs.js: pref("font.FreeType2.enable", true); pref("font.freetype2.shared-library", "libfreetype.so.6"); pref("font.FreeType2.autohinted", true); pref("font.FreeType2.unhinted", false); pref("font.antialias.min", 16); pref("font.directory.truetype.2", "/usr/share/fonts/truetype"); // AA with Bitmap scaling. pref("font.scale.aa_bitmap.enable", true); //pref("font.scale.aa_bitmap.always", true); pref("font.scale.aa_bitmap.min", 16);
You just proved one of his other points. Normal users don't want to have to put crap like this in some file they never heard of just to get AA to work.
Mac hardware is much more expensive than pc hardware. Plus, if you upgrade incramentally you can always have a decently up to date system without ever purchasing a whole new computer.

To be fair at that point he had already lost Iowa. That was just the last nail in the coffin.

make licensed copies on any medium which suits me
But how would they get you to keep paying for the same song every time a new medium comes along?
Mods, mod grandparent up.

Seriously don't just throw out there that a 3D version exists and then not tell us where we can find it.
I've got ne word for you.
:)
"Collect"

Am i the only one that read the headline and pictured a laptop with a big curved top?

So basically you are paying for internet access, just in a different form.
Move along folks nothing to see here.

Sigh, RTFA.

And the box should probably be checked by default. I mean how many people are not going to want to use fonts that look nicer.

I'm not quite sure I get it, is microsoft doing something right now?
Is it possible for individuals to querry this database?
The worst thing about SmarterChild is that it appears you can't warn it when it gives you bad answers.
