I support a goverment mandate that would limit the Convenience fee + handling charge per ticket must be less than 10%. (and no more than a dollar to mail it to me USPS).
I support selling $1000 front row seats if I can get a $50 seat in the balcony that doesn't come with a $10 "Convenience Fee" attached.
I totally agree. Now that AMD and Negroponte have the UN's support on this one, Microsoft is simply showing up late to the party.
If Microsoft wants to try to compete with a phone based semi-open Windows CE lite client I think they should give it a shot. (Not that we need another battleground for free vs. closed software...) I welcome it.
The children of Developing Nations will now have two more choices than they have now.
You're right just complain about how this is going to do nothing. Spend your time explaining to others on Slashdot how they are wasting their time.
Don't write a letter. Don't call your congressperson. Don't join others http://www.savemuniwireless.org/ who support this cause.
Seriously, unless you are a libertarian, a SBC employee or worried about the effect of cheap high speed internet on the masses this should be your issue. SBC is fighting for their interests I respect that. But shutting down municipal wireless is not the answer. Let your congressperson know.
This same bill will be brought to your state (in some form) next (if it hasn't already).
Who cares who ends up using the spectrum? Someone will find a use for it.
The important part is the new network. No longer are you limited to the number of stations you can have in a band or how many programs you can broadcast at the same time. Would you like to watch the conservative news or the liberal news tonight?
This is awesome. I guess if someone downloads a song enjoys it, even if they go out and buy the CD, they are still in trouble unless they delete the file from their collection.
That would work only if you were outside the area of surveillance. If you swapped it out in between to cameras it should be obvious to the system that a switch was made. Finding you among cars with plates that hadn't been switched wouldn't be too difficult.
They do send information about your viewing habits to sell as aggregated data. Any specific information about you would be off limits (at least in their current terms of use).
For them to catch you, they would have to put the information about your usage with information from the Satellite Provider. Possible but not likely.
The tivo guide is great when it's working. But when it doesn't it appears they don't have the ability to do anything about it.
I had a similar experience with the Lineup people.
My cable provider added some channels to my system and getting tivo to acknowledge that they were there was like pulling teeth. They wanted me to fax over a copy of the lineup. As if that would provide more proof than me telling them. After about a week of me calling they either figured it out or simply added it to keep me from calling them.
You completely missed the point of this discussion. How is wordpad going to help?
You can create less complicated documents and sometimes even read simple documents created with Word.
But incorporating a text editor into an operating system has nothing to do with open source or open standards. Wordpad is free but only if you have a Windows Machine.

WTF Get this jock bullshit out of here.
Gimme new for nerds!
Currently the process they use is simply annually jacking up the structure. How they would handle this with new legs it's clear from the article.
Sounds like you need an LCD.
Well since there's no direct link it probably looks like Wired. :)
I'm all for it. As long as he looks and sounds like Orlando Jones.
Well, unless you dig it up first.

Of course Wouldn't there be some service to store this and replay it for you on demand.
It looks like the Beta Trial has been closed.
m od e=flat
But you can still apply:

Although from what I can gather from discussions it looks like only applicants in New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia will be accepted.

Good Luck
And assuming that the originating IP wasn't spoofed.
>it really makes me wonder how many of them are being
>hacked, and allowing their neighbors to get free
>Internet access.
If your network isn't wep encrypted then "hacked" is probably an exaggeration.
That would be negative accelleration. Which I'm sure it would also measure. But at that point it's a little late to do anything about it.
It's the sudden acceleration that you are trying to detect. If you work on this end of the problem you'll have more time to do something about it.
This is awesome. I guess if someone downloads a song enjoys it, even if they go out and buy the CD, they are still in trouble unless they delete the file from their collection.
Let that be a lesson to you.
Oh, yeah.
Unless you pull a Fast and the Furious 2.
Driving hundreds of cars out of a garage you had just entered.

No Sir but I do bite my thumb.
Yes and no.

The t608 is CDMA.
The t68i is GSM.
Phone Details: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?id=228
Excellent idea! Maybe we should only allow people to carry a certain amount of cash on them as well.
What kind of stupid idea is this. If the system works, let people carry whatever they want?
Setting a maximum would only serve to limit the liability of the system itself.
