  2. They have their orders... on Overwhelming Bureaucracy in the IT Department? · · Score: -1

IT people don't come up with this crap, someone in management did.

You have to find out where IT got their processes and procedures for this and go above the group that gave it to IT. Explain to them you need faster turn around and less expense.

IT is just following orders. I know, I'm there. If I don't follow the rules, even if I know it's something simple and can be done in 5mins, if I dont' follow the correct process... I'm going to be without a job.

IT would rather have a job tomorrow than worry about if the company is making the right decisions.

  4. Disagree. on Stargate SG-1 Game Finally Canceled · · Score: -1

I disagree. I don't think it's even half over yet. They have destroyed the Replicators and done a good job with the Goa`uld. But the Atlantis group has only been just relativly recently enganged with the Wrath and SG1 recently with the Ori, there's a whole other 5-8 seasons right there!

We haven't met the 4th alliance race yet, I think. I did miss some back episodes, but if we did meet them, it was only briefly and there could be half a season of episodes with them. The nano virus on Atlanis, their creators are just thinking about introducint next season in Atlantis.

There's still tons of story that I can think of and I'm sure there's plenty more that the creators/writters can think of than me.

  6. What about my server... on The Choice Between DRM and Security · · Score: -1

So intel and amd are being pressured into putting DRM into their chips. What about the millions of people that use these chips for servers, or workstations, or even desktops but never listen to music or play movies?

We still have to pay for intel/amd to R&D that into a chip. It's extra, junk that I don't need or want. It's a waste of silicon, space, power, heat, money etc.

I dont' feel that I should have to pay for intel/amd to put something into my cpu that won't benefit me.

And of course, just like the article stated, it's a potential security threat.

See, I think the problem is that the RIAA is convinced that they should be making X amount of money on a certian song. They have singers, song writers, fancy computer programs to calculate if we will like it or not, rooms of guys/gals in lab coats tell them that this song will make them money.... then all of a sudden it doesn't. All their hard work and research is wrong. People don't like it. That's where the problem comes in.

  10. Just call it HD-DVD on release on Blu-Ray The Flavour of The Moment · · Score: -1

I don't care if Blue-Ray wins the "battle". Or if it's Blu-ray or HD-DVD, or Purpl-Ray or Cousin Marvins DVD format.

As long as when I go to buy my next DVD player, it's called HD-DVD. It's would be extremely stupid to call it anything else.

We have DVD now, the next generation in the publics eyes is going to be HD-DVD. If that's not on the box and that's what it's called, then it will be a failure as a product.

  11. Less Apple please on Are Media Writers Biased Towards Apple? · · Score: -1

Ok, apple switching from ppc to x86, that's news. Yet another IPOD... eh... ok that's news. Steve Jobs took a shit and it smells bad, wow... not news. Apple PR breathes... not news. Apple does something stupid that everyone else does anyway, not news.

There is simply way too much news about apple. I see what the editors are trying to do, and no sir, I don't like it. They are becoming too much like the religious types pushing their views on the rest of us.

I have the pref set to not show Apple related news... how conveniant that it's not working, Cowboy Neal tells me.

  15. Yes! on Equal Time For Creationism · · Score: -1

I agree. I'm going to repeat it cause it's worth saying again.

ID has nothing in common with any other philosophy UNTIL you add the religious aspect.

    ID is not science.
    ID is not philosophy.
ID is an attempt by a religious organization to counter the scientific method's encroachment on their domain.

With every scientific advance, their concept of "God" becomes less effective and more nebulous and this scares them.

ID is bull shit. It's proven that we evolved.

Hell, I am begining to lean towards the idea of making it unlawful to teach anyone under 18 anything about religion. It skews their views and judgement on the real world.

I was raised catholic, I was told what to do and when to say things. I was told to take communtion. I was told I was going through confirmation. I was told told told. Never once was I asked if I actually believe that crap. I was told this is the way things are and that's that.

Sorry, that's not how things are. It's not how things were and it just doesn't make sence. At a very early age it was very easy to see that the simple fact that there are multiple religions PROVES without a doubt that religion in general is just a feeling. Something made up.

If all this stuff I was told to belive was true, then everyone would believe it. Not everyone does. There are plenty of other religions that just don't even come close to the same beliefs. So how can I know which is the right one? Faith? No, they all promote that hearsay. Proof? Nope, none provide any kind of proof.

Religion is just a bunch of bullshit. The real question is why do people even still believe this stuff. Education I think is what most people need to realize this is just crap. People still think they need some kind of warm feeling that religion gives them.

I was told I had that feeling once. It didn't make sence to feel like that. It just wasn't right. This should definatly NOT be taught in school. It's just going to confuse kids and make them screwed up in the head.
