$25k might not seem like a lot for what you get, but I know I'd have a really hard time coming up with the money. I couldn't take out a loan because there is nothing tangible, I don't know of anyone that would give ME a loan for that. Even if I could, it'd probably be a really short term and the payments would just be too much for me. Even borrowing from friends and family wouldn't be enough.
Maybe the only involvement the school should have is how to walk away and ignore someone like that. You don't have to sit there and read what they type. Almost like if you sit there and let them, you are stupid to continue.
PayPal and Google Checkout are not 100% the same. Google Checkout isn't for person to person transfers. So they cannot always be directly compared.
I've used PayPal for many years, it's good. But for buying from some online place I've never heard of before... I'd choose Google Checkout. I've used it several times and it's been perfect. I wasn't asked but I'd rate Google Checkout as better than excellent, I'd call it perfect.
Thanks for taunting us with it for over a year and then telling us we can't have it.
If this isn't something that I myself can go and buy, then this project has just lost all interest for me. I thought it would be neat to have one and help support the project and possibly help partly help pay some needy kids to get one too.
Well if they don't want my help, keep the news bits to yourself. It's a hard world out there and just the fact that you are doing it to help people somewhere I'll never even see, isn't worth a spot on slashdot anymore.
Choice on console should be based on what games can be used on it.
Kind of pointless to buy a Wii on principal and then have all the games you want to play on the PS3.
What's the point of buying a console based on the console if the other one has all the titles you want?
I think the whole console wars is just a front by the mfgrs to lockin people to a system. People should not care about the console and worry more about the games.
MS is so damn scared of Linux that they are in denial. They actually think they hold something over linux. They think they can actually offer some kind of "protection" to people... from what? If MS could have done something already, they would have.
They can't. It's a bluff just trying to scare people.
Novell, stay away from MS. They don't care about anyone but themselves. Keep SUSE to yourself and make it better. Don't sign anything with Microsoft.
The harder microsoft squeezes.... the more people consider alternatives.
Thanks to Kubuntu, out of the 6 computers at our house... I now do not have a single pc that runs windows. Sure the laptop can dualboot to XP, if for some reason I needed to. But I haven't seen any reason to in months.
Yes, you want to bother to own a copyright, YOU need to bother making sure it's upheld.
It's not MY job to make sure YOUR copyright is adhered to.
It's almost like having a kid, for those first 18 years it's your responsibility to keep that kid in line and out of trouble, educate them and keep them healthy. After that time, they are on their own. Same concept with a copyright. You want to have one then it's your responsibility to keep up with it and watch over it.
I'm not here to babysit your copyright and neither is Google/YouTube.
1) Intel swamped us with Core 2 Duo hints all throughout the AM2 release. It really put a damper on the AM2 spotlight.
2) 939 was so good and still is. It's still so widely available and getting cheaper. I think that people, myself included, that were looking at 939 before AM2 came around were pretty well convinced it would be the one to get. Then AM2 came out and took the flagship spotlight away, all these same people were still so sold on 939.... oh and now they are getting cheaper... just hold out a month or two.... or 3. Bam, lets buy 939, it's half the cost... I don't really need all those AM2 features for that much money.
And not in a "he does gods work so yes he is a tool of god" type way, I mean more of the 'doesn't have a thought in his head that he can call his own, just blindly believes in 2000 year old fairy tails like anyone else that believes in this bull shit' type of tool.
People need to wise up and realize that religion is just a form of control and offers you nothing for all that they give.
Sounds like a cheap sales pitch by, yet another, apple fan boy trying to justify their apple purchase. If you have a bad feeling about using an Apple, it's ok to stop and go back to windows. Otherwise, shutup and just use it. We don't need to hear you trying to justify your backside being raped.
Just wait till someone high up is "concerned" about "clocking" while trying to fill out an "entitlements" form.
I'm not in a "highup" posistion, but I try to correct people whenever these buzzwords come flying around. Just a simple "oh you mean...., I get you."
I think the worst is "moving forward". It's just aweful. There are some of these words/phrases that I just simply refuse to use.
Of course I understand enough to know that not using those words in a posistion like that might be more frownd upon. I also understand that the way I deal, probably won't suit your needs. But I really wish someone could get through to these people that use these and bitch slap them till they stop.
"Obstensibly/. would pay more to provide a better service"
beep beep. Back the truck up here. They wouldn't be paying for "better" service. They would be paying to keep the same level of service.
This is much akin to a bully in highshool. "Give me your lunch money everyday, or I'll beat you up more than I already do" You wouldn't be paying for less beatings, you would be paying more to not be beat up more.
They aren't planning on bringing up a new faster tier of service, oh no. That's what they want you to think. All they are doing is going to be dropping everyone down in speed and then making them pay more to get back up to the speed they were at before.
Don't be confused and think this extra money being paid is going to get you something better. No no. It's simply a bully tax where they just simply want more money for the same service.
This isn't a Vonage problem. Vonage doesn't answer the phone when you dial 911, it's automatically redirected. Vonage is thus not the problem. This story is a dup and is still wrong. NEXT!
This is a bad idea Kevin. You, first of all, you don't have authority to make that decision. Second, it's just wrong that you can be lobbied to this by a big corporation. You need to be taken out of office.
No really. Get some company like Siemens Business Services to take over IT. I know they do it for several other large companies.
Get a contract with an SLA and hold someone accountable. It sounds like a commercial but, make the IT dept want to help. Make them happy to help. Make them a contract with an SLA and stick to it. Have their contract on the line if they don't do a good job.
Have an indirect way of making complaints with the company too. That way if a tech doesn't come over within your SLA time, you can complain about him/her without him/her ever knowing. It side steps the tech, goes right to management and uses management for what it's for. Managing employee's. Management will deal with the tech, all you have to do is point out the SLA and that they failed to meet it.
That's a bitch.

Kills the virus..... and your skin cells by digesting you from the outside.

MS is trying to scare people into their arms.

While the list is kind of a "nice to know" thing, it really wouldn't influence where my connecting flight will be.
Yes I refuse to pay $8 for a few hours of lack luster wifi performance, but getting to my destination and airfare are higher priorities.
The harder microsoft squeezes.... the more people consider alternatives.

Fuck that shit..... Flash 9 Beta for linux is out! This is rocking some socks from here to there.
Who em the bill of replacing the server when it dies from too much heat. Oh and the addon cost of downtime from the company.
There are some things you just can't skimp on. Either a/c a closet or dedicate a room for it.
If it can be logged, it can be blocked. I don't want to hear anymore whining. End of line. Next case.
Has been a free option on new systems for quite a while now. Get up on the times.

Lawsuit? Against who? It wasn't Vonage that put him on hold. Vonage did not take the call. It is not Vonage's fault.
This is the same story that was posted a few months back and it was clear then that it wasn't Vonage's fault.

Better buy up those NEC 3550 dvd writers now before sony screws that up too.
