  1. Re:60 still hertz on NVIDIA Offers 3D Glasses For the Masses · · Score: 1

the NVIDIA software is able to construct a stereo 3D image out of existing game content while the 120 Hz requirement gives each eye 60 frames of motion per second negating the physical detriments that were known to occur with previous 3D offerings.

Well, except that some of us can still see the 60Hz flicker. I want to gouge my eyes out looking at anything less than 75Hz, which would work out to 150Hz combined for this technology.

I am guessing they are banking on LCD being fairly slow.

First and foremost, I am not a lawyer in any way. I have only incidental and accidental experience with law. Given where I grew up, law is still a strange beast to me. You have been legally forewarned.

defamation is strange because its cross accusatory. When you accuse someone of defamation, it is on you to prove what they said was not true at the time. Its only defamation if its grossly untrue.
Not sure how this plays into him wanting names, I am pretty sure that should not happen for any reason before some element of the court proceedings.
Basically, he needs to be able to prove his innocence before he can prove the accused of wrongdoing, and he should have to do that before he gets names. Its always near impossible to prove ones innocence.
Assuming you don't believe me, think about how you will prove your not a pederast. Mere accusation is practically damnation in some cases.
Best you think twice before buying awesome mint cookies from girl scouts. Turn them away. "Go away little girl, I don't need your kind around here; have shotgun". Above all, DO NOT GIVE HER MONEY! Its practically a shut case if she is wired.
On the other hand, he is probably guilty as sin, for running an unclean shop, lets not forget what we are talking about.

As per usual, DO NOT LISTEN TO ME for anything important. I will stear you wrong. Sometimes intentionally. Unless it saves your life. Then you can listen to me, and give me credit of course.
I am pretty serious about defamation being a hard row to hoe. Its usually used as a threat to make people think about what they are saying, most times the threat is used it goes no where near court for good reason. Its usually used to prove that the words you say can cut both ways.

  6. My way of interpreting is null on Bjarne Stroustrup On Educating Software Developers · · Score: 3, Interesting

The article starts off by claiming Stroustrup created C++. Fair enough, but then, in the same paragraph, the author claims that C++ is used in "google search" and the iphone. Doesn't the iphone platform stress objective-C ( like all current Apple platforms )? Objective-C != C++. It could be a minor thing since I dont do either, I am just saying something, maybe. Maybe like he does not know his subject matter, or assumes his readers do not.

The rest of the article was mostly about the Stroustrup history, not what he said in the presentation. Its almost like the author cherry picked a few damning things his subject said in a presentation totaling ~42 words and then gave it a provocative title, and a bunch of interpretation.
Like I give a shit what the author thinks.

Most of the drug treatments seemed like a viable strategy at one point. HIV mutates extremely rapidly though, and it seems able to bypass almost anything we can throw at it. If the new types of drugs can reduce the virus's ability to replicate effectively enough that it doesn't get an opportunity evolve a way round then in theory it could work. The problem with that is that you would need to administer the drug reliably on schedule for every infected person all the time and that doesn't happen. The treatments are expensive, and even worse, enough people see HIV/AIDS as some sort of punishment for promiscuity that some people are denied treatments intermittently because people don't feel comfortable giving it to them.
