I currently have a Nokia 920 running Windows Phone 10 insider.
It has been working like a champ for a long time. I think the Windows mobile UI is very elegant and not prone to clutter.
I have thought about going to Google or Apple but neither choice appeals to me very much. As long as the phone continues to work I will keep it. However, my next phone... I don't know... perhaps Ubuntu...
I am obese by all measurements. I weigh about 250lbs but I am not super fat. I do not eat breakfast, I don't snack while I am at work and I eat 2 very sensible meals a day. There are people I know that are much skinnier than I am, that eat 2-3x as much as I do. I also exercise a fair amount by necessity since I don't own a car and use my bicycle for everything. I can sprint for a few city blocks without too much trouble and I am never winded after climbing stairs 6 flights of stairs (which I do several times a day).
So, yeah, I suppose I fall into the "obese-non-breakfast-eating" crowd but I don't think that cramming more food into my body first thing in the morning (when I am not hungry) is going to help slim me down.
It sounds like this biometric-based "trust score" will just be an additional verification factor... So I am not sure why they are saying it is going to replace 2nd factor.... it will BE the second (or third) factor...
Also, being a second factor implies that this will not unlock your device by itself... it will just be an additional "verification" on your unlock method... like: I see that you got the unlock dot sequence technically correct, but you did it in a swiping style that is inconsistent with all your previous unlocks... so no login, try again.
So, saying that it will remove the needs for passwords is... well... lying really.
I mean, how would that work even if it was true? Phone: "Walk around a bit to unlock." what?
I mean, the tech is neat, but it would seem as though the article is getting some facts completely wrong... either that, or I am not understanding this correctly...
Yeah, Angry Birds was a pretty fun and relaxing puzzle game which I enjoyed from time-to-time.
However, as time has gone on, the experience of the game has gone downhill progressively with the ads becoming more intrusive and annoying and the in-app purchases becoming more necessary for play.
They finally lost me when they decided to effectively disable free-to-play altogether by forcing you to make in-app purchases to play (or wait a day for your token bank to fill up again).
It's not THAT fun and there are plenty of other free-to-play options out there...
The movie looked cute and fun but knowing this layoff bit coupled with them shitting on their fans has guaranteed that I will not be paying a premium price to see this movie. I'll wait for Redbox to have it.
I like the backspace key for back as well and I use it all the time... it makes so much sense to me... it's got a back arrow right there.
Sure, I have been burned by it a couple of times, but that is why I just use the delete key or ctrl+shift+arrows to select text and then the delete key, in forms and never use the backspace button.
Anyway, as long as it is map-able, I don't have a major issue with the change.
Harrumpff... I personally don't like X so everyone, stand with me now against X because I am right! I don't care about your reasons or the fact that you find value in X... it is WRONG! Don't you see that you ignorant plebe?!
"Computer support" scams are so common these days. I am glad that someone is doing something about curbing them.
They pretty on the computer illiterate and at best part you from your money for no reason. At worst they install whatever the hell they want while they are providing remote "support".
It's nice to see a company say no to revenue in order to help their users.
But you are right in the sense that throwing "a few more dollars" at someone won't make them work harder. But what will make them want to work harder is a sense of community, that they are not simply a number. Couple the few extra dollars with some profit sharing or bonuses that are tied to performance and you might start caring about your job.
I, as I am sure many here, have done their time in the fast food industry.
I certainly remember working my ass off... I wouldn't want to go back to that type of work. It wasn't simply "may I take your order please", it was working under hot/stressful conditions. It was janitorial, assembly line, manual labor (stocking), and mental work.
Personally, what I do now is sit at a desk and write automation scripts and documentation... I don't work nearly as hard mentally or physically, I have completely average intelligence and I am fairly lazy. Yet I make so much more money... I don't really understand why that is actually. I am not owed this position, I didn't work especially hard to get to this position (certainly not as hard as people in the service industry work) and yet here I am, doing less than your average McDonald's worker and making 8 times their salary. That's kind of screwed up imo.
I can respect anyone who is willing to work in the service industry and I think that, as part of the social contract (get a job and you can buy food and shelter as well as stuff you want), you should be able to make a living wage and then some.
Yeah I came off as kind of a straw man builder there.
The thing is, we all live off others' "expense". We all stand on the shoulders of giants. We should be more focused on pursuit of happiness instead of worrying what others have or don't have.
I would gladly pay into a basic income system because I like the idea of helping people in this way but also knowing that if I ever did lose my job and couldn't work I wouldn't be out on the street. I know this is what insurance is for... but couldn't that money be used for helping someone else instead of helping a big corporation who is going to do everything in its power to not pay out?

I have never been a breakfast guy. I am just not hungry in the morning unless (somewhat ironically) I eat a lot just before bed.
As a matter of fact, if I do eat breakfast, I find it much harder to wait until lunch because I get very hungry around mid-morning.
Other that what I stated above, I have never experienced any difference between eating breakfast and skipping it. I perform the same either way.

The buns may look moldy but at lease it will change your poop fun colors!
Patched almost a year ago, apparently... so... I would fault ISP admins for not having a patch cycle...
Many customers claimed they never received notification of the threat
In this day-and-age if you are not proactive in your network security, it's on you.
Sort of in the same boat.
I think the last physical media I bought for myself was the Tom Baker years of Dr. Who on VHS.
I don't pirate either, I just watch whatever Netflix has available or just read or play WoW or MTG when I want to be entertained.
Facts will never get in the way of ideology...
Yeah, I believe you are right.
Though I use RoboForm so I haven't manually filled out a web form in years.

Them not having telemetric data is very very odd
If only they were running Windows 10...
I can almost see their collective hands rubbing together in front of goatee'd pointy faces...
This is the one and only time that fear of terism should inform your daily life and decisions, when they single you out by name.
Perhaps this is why our politicians constantly tell us that we should all be afraid of terists... because they are all personally afraid of them...
This is you:
Harrumpff... I personally don't like X so everyone, stand with me now against X because I am right! I don't care about your reasons or the fact that you find value in X... it is WRONG! Don't you see that you ignorant plebe?!
Sort of off topic, but I notice this whenever an ad vendor wants to get feedback... the choice "I don't like ads" is never an option... weird.
Is it any wonder that statistics based on surveys are almost always crap?
Well, looks like the results are in and, oh gee... looks like everybody who took the survey loves the new ad. Keep up the great work people!
who cares

If you love progressive metal... you will not be disappointed.
That is all.
I am too afraid of pusher robots for this to be funny...
Scroogled?

Yet you still are supporting their practices by buying a TP-Link device....
It certainly doesn't hurt.
