From the looks of the all the diagrams showing the location of the so called "hidden" chamber, why don't they just carefully excavate into it from the outside, instead of going to all the touble of sending these robots in etc...
One thing is for sure though, the discovery of the second door allivates fears that the Egyptian goverment had already opened the outer door and explored the secret chamber.
I understand your point. But my point was not that these people should be paid more, but should be treated with more respect and not just tossed aside just because they viewed their concerns about late checks or were deemed as "trouble" makers.
Reading an article like this does nothing but make me feel quite weak and ill. Thinking that people in a country like the USA are treated like nothing more then a pair of hands really really bothers me.
I read sooo many articles written by these company CEO's or whatever, telling the reader how they are now customer focused and how great they are doing, but the honest truth is they treat their employees as if they aren't human.
Companies need to learn that it's their work force that makes them what they are. I'm sure they believe they are being effictive by getting rid of "bad" workers who complain and want better standards, but have they ever really just taken a step back and wondered how much BETTER production would be if they were to treat their workers with respect and give them the security they need and desire?!?
Although some people might find this to be a minor flaw, I would have liked to have seen it have a Remote Control that sits between the player and the headphones. As I like to put my player (minidisc/mp3) in my jacket/backpack, it can be a royal pain having to fumble around for the player, just to change tracks. Or for example using a tape converter in car to listen to your mp3s, can become quite dangerous if you have to muck about with the player to change tracks.
I may be wrong, and perhaps there is a remote control for this product, but from looking at the pictures I could not see one...
LoL, I didn't want to say Microsoft in case I was wrong. And it seems implausable to me that they would try to pull the same stunt twice! LOL How wrong I was about M$:P
If it is, this wont be the first we've seen of companies using filters to spruce up their game captures. Now I can't remember extactly, but wasn't it Sony who had been photoshoping their PSX2 screenshots with lens flares??!
My First Emacs Encounter
on
GNU Emacs 21
·
· Score: -1, Troll
I can still remember moving over to emacs as my main development tool as if it was yesterday (it was actually only last year, but anyways).
I started working at a dot com (still around actually BusinessEurope.com where all the developers were Borland JBuilder users. I of course rode the band wagon and used JBuilder like the rest. Then about a week later after starting a young Swedish man started working for the same company. He compelely blew everyone out of the water with his knowledge and skill. I was just in such amazement and noticed that opposed to using Jbuilder like the rest he used Emacs. When questioned he slated Jbuilder stating that a real programmer should know what he's doing and not need all the fancy auto complete functions that Jbuilder supplied (and which the other developers claimed were invaluable). I tried using Editplus to hatch some sort of inbetween house but it just didn't cut it and soon I was completly turned to Emacs. I haven't looked back since and I urge all my friends to use it now when discussing IDEs.
Good on you Emacs and thanks for showing me the way...
New? This is old my friend. Here in the UK I've seen people walking around using Bluetooth headsets since the beginning of the year! And when I went to replace my phone a few months back I had a couple of bluetooth options to choose from.
Me get a life? I apparantly already have one as I'm not living in the dark ages like you.
Who gives a toss. Does this mean I get to also see a posting about Ericssons Bluetooth phones which have been out for ages too?!?
I could understand if this was line up of Bluetooth phones. But this is a single phone buy a single manufacturer. I can't believe the dribble that makes the first page of this site sometimes.
We've had this availble in the UK since around the end of 1999! A couple of people where I work have had it and we also certainly didn't get it from 3M!
Although it's a little weird at first and you look at it and can't imagine how it could be comfortable. It is acutally quite nice to use. But unlike a mouse which you can use standing, this is pretty useless if you doing anything but sitting.
All windows software is shareware... You've just got to find someone to share it with ;)
It seems to me to be only interesting to people for which email is some sort of "novelty"
:D
And there was me thinking I was a proper geek. I guess I'll go back to finding email a novelty then...
BTW If you ever saw the speed with which some youth in the Philippines can text with you wouldn't be too amused
Why not just put AOL on the front. People wont hold on to them for long then :D
"first transatlantic bitch-slap over the Internet."
And I did say carefully...
Well actually if I was a brain surgron, I would operate on your brain by "cutting a fucking great hole" in your head and operating.
Not by sending little robots up your nose...

Are you sure the machine isn't crashing becasue it would simply rather kill itself that play a Celine Dion CD?
Ahhh, "Star Wars Knobs"
It's good to see, someone has finally identified who the knobs in the film were
And perhaps if you don't find this funny, it's because it's more a British term then an american. Calling someone a "knob" that is...
No no, you want a POGO
Yeah, true...
:) Just as I don't think the original submission of the story is...
But to be honest I didn't think it was worth Slashdot's time
Wow! These were shown in Mens Health magazine here in the UK before Christmas...
Slashdot/CNN need to get with the times or get more healthy! Check it out!

I wish I had something interesting to say about this article. But in all honesty I don't.
Thankfully on the A-bit KT7 range of boards they have built in heat sensors which sit under the CPU and at other places on the board.
In the BIOS you can set alarms to go off and have the machine shut down when the machine reaches a critical temperature.
Simple but effective. I wonder how many board manufactures are putting this in place?
