I saw the special and though the reconstruction was kind or bunk. I mean you could find any skull, give it to those gusy and say it was George Washingtons. They know what he is supposed to look like and they would come up with something close. Now, I have no clue if they cheated of course, but I would like to see some comparisons with skulls of non-famous people and their real life pictures.
It won't be gaim users that are out in the cold, it will be those that are beholden to MSN Messenger.
Funny all the ways Microsoft is finding to push people away from their products. There next big idea will probably to start charging people for Internet Explorer. (I guess they soft of already do with Windows)
If you want to keep your budget under $1,000 you can pretty much forget about a projector. I don't think you will find one that is high quality enough to make it worth it.
I would not worry about getting an HDTV because you won't find many under $1,000, but may be able to find an HDTV ready set at 32" or 36". The biggest advantage is not so much that they are HDTV ready but that because they are they have more lines of resolution than just a normal set. For normal TV or cable viewing this will not mean much, but when you pop in a DVD you will definately see the difference.
The last two things that I think are essential are flat screen and a 3 line digital filter. If you get a decent flat screen it will most likely have the 3 line digital filter.
Like the fist poster said, you can't go wrong with a Sony...especially the Wega. You can probably get either a 32" HDTV ready or a 36" standard Wega. I would not worry about 16:9 TV's unless you watch a hell of a lot of DVD's, otherwise you just end up watching either distored regular TV or you got to 4:3 and lose about 1/3 of your screen.
You are right when it comes to just surfing the Internet, but a lot of people use wireless in their homes to transfer files between computers. In that case, it is a pretty big different and will be felt.
Now that they took away any speed advantage to upgrade, wonder if they will at least improve upon latency.
you must have never played counter strike with a crappy team. you die all the time and there is no glory in having to sit in spectate mode for 5 minutes waiting to get another chance!:)

For some reason I just don't think this is going to make that much of a difference to your Linux user/Gamer. Unless they can get the game developers to actually develop Linux ports at the same time they are doing their Windows design then we will just continue to see a few old games ported over. By old I mean like 1 year of course.
I think this is a great idea, and I love Gentoo, but I know I will be keeping a Windows partition around to dual boot until more companies like id (read Valve!!!) release for both Windows and Linux at the same time.

There is obviously not a shortage of astronaughts wanting to go up in the space shuttle. It is not like we are strapping space monkies into the shuttle and sending them up against their will. These are smart educated people, who train hard to be astronaughts and are willing to give their lives to go into space and be pioneers. If they choose this risky business then so be it, I applaud them.
I'm not saying there is no room for improvement in the shuttle program, but some bozo politician from Texas should keep his word hole shut, when it comes to issues like this. When people are probing the frontiers some are bound to die. He should look at the history of the state he represents, it was not a bunch of sissy frontiersmen who wanted to stable the exploration and charting of Texas.
some cd's have intro or little skit song throughout the cd. i don't wan to have to pay $1 for a 30 second intro or skit. of course i don't have to, but then again i will never have the entire cd. for a cd that is 60 mins but 20 tracks it is a bit much. still worth just ordering online and paying shipping.
a per mb or per song minute charge would take care of this. or at least special pricing if you want an entire cd. i guess this is more for people who are just d/l'ing a few songs not the entire cd.
It can be annoying as hell to talk on until you get used to it. Most phones have a natural sweet spot that just feels right when you hold it to you head. The screen of the Sidekick gets pressed on your check while the ear piece is not so close to your ear. Once you get used to it is not a big deal. Also, pressing that phone up to your greasy ass cheek gets smudges on it.
Not a great PDA but if you use your PDA for what a lot of people do, as an address book and appointment book, it will do just fine.
The ring tones are gay. People will all look when it rings to see who the ass is. Then they think you are crazy when you press a 'Gameboy' to you head and start talking. Once they see you get off the phone, flip the screen, and start browsing the web or checking email they think it is the most kick ass thing they have seen.
It is better than any phone at browing the web. You actually get decent pictues and number of lines per page. Some site are designed kind of weird though and you have to scroll. Also not so good for site that use a lot of cookies to store data, but then no phones are good at that.
Games are lame, but sometimes you get desperate.
Email is great. If you get a web based account with pop access you are pretty much set for home and while on the road.
Wish they have more than just AIM but it works pretty good. Just have to convince your friends they need AIM accounts and to stay logged into them.
Some people have said it feels cheap. Well compared to the Motorola Pagewriter is does a little bit. But I had a lot more problems with the Pagewriter and it was not a phone nor did it have games. It does not feel any cheaper than most lightweight mobile phones.
The design is great. The flip screen that hides the keyboard when not in use works perfectly. The only bad part is if you have to dial a number not in your address book you have to flip the screen, dial, then flip back..well I suppose you could leave the screen out but that would just be weird.
It lacks good syncing. Kind of scary, if you store a lot on it, but I hear they are working on it. I would also wait for color if it is going ot be out soon, although their greyscale is pretty damn good.
I guess the Japanese must love scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and scrolling...when trying to read web pages. Browsing on moble phones sucks. It is nice to have as an option but doing it more than on a computer is just retarded...but then again the Japanese are buying up golden turd squirts by the firstful. Weirdos.
Both Denon and Marantz make pretty high quality products and some nice higher end audio and video equipment. This looks a nice aquisition for them so they can expand their product line in a nice progressive way. They already make good DVD players and receivers, now they can add a media center device that will allow DVR capabilities and MP3 music libraries.
I do have a feeling that they will somewhat support the Replay TV customers, but they will no do any additional development. My guess is they will come out with their own unit and offer Replay TV owners deep discounts if they trade in. They are not going to want to support someone else's service.
As long as you get a phone that works at home you at least have the functionality of your land line...I mean your land line is not going to help you much 15 miles outside a major city.
Even with the crappy coverage it is still pretty painless to go completely wireless as long as you find out the best provider in the area you live in.

just as you should be able to pass over their product because they do, do it.

i'm thinking this may have more to do with the methane coming out the takers butt's than their actual body odor.

This looks like it is only for non-fiction. Usually not to hard to tell what a non-fiction book is about just by reading the title.

better hurry up and register it before they do! then sell it back for millions!!! muhahaha
otherwise you are going to be a virgin for a long, long, long time.
don't say you were not warned.

I wonder how much performance would suffer running this. Looks like his CPU is getting hammered pretty good and he is not really doing much.
Got to admit is looks nice though.
