Yeah, I pretty much pegged this as the 'Look at me! Look at me! I'm still relevant!" stunt. Didn't he just fend of a primary challenge from other Democrats for his seat?
"There has grown in the minds of certain groups in this country the idea that just because a man or corporation has made a profit out of the public for a number of years, the government and the courts are charged with guaranteeing such a profit in the future, even in the face of changing circumstances and contrary to public interest. This strange doctrine is supported by neither statute or common law. Neither corporations or individuals have the right to come into court and ask that the clock of history be stopped, or turned back."

What's wrong with people? This kind of behaviour has been around so long, that a word's been invented to describe it. And just to show that musicals apply to every situation in life, here's the beginning of a song for that word from the musical Avenue Q:
GARY COLEMAN:
Right now you are down and out and feeling really crappy
NICKY:
I'll say.
GARY COLEMAN:
And when I see how sad you are
It sort of makes me...
Happy!
NICKY:
Happy?!
GARY COLEMAN:
Sorry, Nicky, human nature-
Nothing I can do!
It's...
Schadenfreude!
Making me feel glad that I'm not you!
By that reasoning, we must also be addicted to taxes, because I know I pay well more than $200/month in income, sales and other taxes.
Who do I talk to about giving up taxes?
American citizens will soon be required to bear a passport to re-enter the country by 2007, regardless of where they're coming in from. Vide: Travel Document Requirements FAQ from regulations passed earlier this year.
Yes, they can't keep US citizens out of the US by law. But they're now saying, 'A US Passport is the only document we're going to accept as proof of your citizenship in the US.' Don't have a US Passport, you're SOL.
Chris Justus Dissects Google Suggest is one I've been looking through lately. He breaks down the javascript and explains what's going on with this nifty piece of tecnology.
Actually, not all Commonwealth citizens are permitted knighthood. Canada, for instance, doesn't allow its citizens to receive titles from foreign governments. A few years ago, the Canadian federal government intervened when the British government wanted to knight Conrad Black. When the British government knighted a Canadian-British citizen, Terry Matthews, the Canadian government protested.

The authour writes that 195,000 H-1Bs are available, and this was true for three years (FY 2001-2003). The current number has dropped back to the original amount, 65,000 annually according to the DHS:CIS (what replaced the INS).
No amount of linux boxes can save Natalie Portman from the hamfisted "direction" by Lucas. He writes, produces and directed the prequels, whereas he had help with Ep 4-6. He apparently believes he can write a movie better without pesky things like suggestions and critiques of his work. Is it any surprise the movies have a very different feel?
At not even 28 years old, I'm already a lead developer and have people with twenty years more experience looking to me for coding hints and tips.
It makes you sound like a real asshole.
I don't know that I read that as bragging, perhaps because I'm in the same situation. I'm about the same age, and I've been put in a lead position where some of the developers and contractors who had to report to me were many years my senior. I read it as him being somewhat overwhelmed with the mantle of leadership -- I know I was, when I was asked to 'step up'.
Then to be fair, they should bleep out commercials, too.
Here's an idea: DON'T CLICK ON STREETVIEW.
Seriously, how is this different than pornography? If it offends you, stop looking at it.
The California State Controller is an elected position, not a political appointment from the Governor. He'd have to be recalled.

There you go muddying the waters with facts!

Sweet, so when those speakers get ubiquitous, people can finally get a soundtrack of their life piped in the background all the time!
Have your favourite love song as you propose...
Have Die Walkure playing when you're pissed off and stomping around in the rain...
Have Bolero playing when you're getting it on in public...
The opportunities are endless! A new revenue stream for RIAA members!
That would be RFC 1149, "A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers". AKA Pigeon Protocol.
I'm sure Cheney approves.

Shouldn't that be '... hackers gained access to the unsecured server ...'?

Just my 2 cents.
