    Tesla hasn't met a timeline, target, or marketing promise in their entire career, why start now?

    Why not? They're trying to move into the mass market. Much different expectations.

    Say what? Tesla is a build-to-order, direct-to-customer automaker. They ARE the car dealer.

    That was a disgusting shooting, the guy basically was shot 10 rounds into a game of Simon Says. Swat teams need to consider that they are meant for shock and awe but trained and give instructions expecting calm and careful reasoning of subjects in front of them.

    You can't reason with the police, they hire the bottom of the bottom of the barrel. The people that end up cops would do just fine in a criminal organization. In In the police they're paid less, but can kill citizens with impunity. What's not to like from their point of view ?

    Not only that but even when fired, they're usually quickly re-hired someone else.

    That is: The Nigerian Scammer must look like a [typical] Nigerian!

    The Nigerian folk must be bemused! They will closely be watching the news. For once, we can look and examine ourselves when it comes to the implicit biases we have among our fellow brethren.

    They should just deport him to Nigeria. He can try using one of his own scam e-mails to get money to get out there, except for the first time, the scam will be true.

    Given that the linked article includes body cam video, I'm going to guess the answer is "yes".

    Wow, the cop who killed him is an excellent shot, assuming he didn't get lucky.
    But he's also a twitchy murdering asshole if he decided to kill someone based on what that video shows.

    that's almost 20% of the total power generated by all of China's wind turbines in 2016 or the output of nine 1 GW coal plants running at a 60% capacity factor.
    Why are they not using that power?

    Not unlucky but unlikely. The ground-based collector would be quite large, perhaps several miles in diameter.
    If beamed back as a laser, that would be dangerous but still not likely to vaporize anyone

    Not needed. If they disconnect automatically, you just need an auto-disconnect and retractable hose, both are solved problems. That you think of Rube Goldberg for any problem doesn't indicate it's a reasonable solution.

    I didn't come up with the idea for a robot snake or try to implement it, Tesla did.
    An auto-disconnect & retractable hose isn't much more reasonable as it would also mean replacing the existing SuperChargers.
    Even if they choose only to modify chargers at the busiest stations, that's still going to be quite a few if the Model 3 becomes even remotely as popular as Tesla hopes.

    Have they perfected the robot snake yet? Unless they switch to inductive charging, they'll need the charger to auto-disconnect & holster itself

    You have to live near one of the existing fueling stations to be able to buy one. The guy down the street from me has two Mirais. I'm on the waiting list for a Clarity.

    Why is no one opting for the Hyundai Tucsons?

    There was a joint announcement last week by Toyota & Panasonic that they're considering collaborating on advanced prismatic Li-on batteries with a goal of 4.5 million electrified cars, hybrid, BEV, etc by 2030

    In this arena, the level of "corruption" is entirely orthogonal to whether or not a puppet is made an example of... and if that's not perfectly clear at this point, you either haven't studied any political history or you didn't learn anything useful from it...

    Here's some "political history" for you - Richard Nixon. He was a much more wily & savvy player than Trump and couldn't save his presidency despite hanging on for a couple years.

    We can thank "terrorists" for:
    (1) an Ireland free of British control
    (2) the State of Israel (the Irgun)
    (3) slowing down Nazi atrocities in Europe (the resistance movements were branded as "terrorists")
    (4) the American Revolution, for better or worse

    In none of these instances were the insurgents allowed to protest peacefully, nor were they able to change the system democratically

    Ireland had a Home Rule party that was gaining support & ground. However things took a turn for the worse with the outbreak of WW1 and the decision by Irish republicans to stage an uprising while Britain was deeply entangled in the war effort.
    That just wasn't ever going to end well.

    Yet it's done all the time. That was one of Eric Garner's beef with the cops, long before they strangled him to death.
