    Regarding Bruce Schneier, I don't believe many listen to him that are
    not in the choir already.

    I also find it hard to understand why the Anti-Gun control people
    like the NRA are not screaming about this. But then the Elie Weisel
    quote applies to that. You know the one that
    goes: "First they came for the...."

    I wish I had a good quote to put in here but our intolerance of different views and ways of doing things is one of the basic limitations of people. Intolerance has no survival value - that I can see - in our crowded age. In less crowded times the family that suffered intolerance could move to a less populated area but those days are over. Personally I like the biblical passage: "judge not or you will be judged". In other words mind you own business. But it is hardly practiced today.

    Of course there will no computers to run it on.
    Unless you could after the "upload", download it
    to someone else's brain. Of course that brain would
    not be the same as your original brain so how would
    that work out? Is "ourselves" just the knowledge -
    which might be uploadable - or is it the knowledge
    and the hardware on which it runs.

    I believe most theologies have a concept of
    Soul of some sort. Would this Soul be uploaded?

    Can this be done with looking at stars? E.g., take a picture of a cluster of stars from one place in the Earths orbit around the Sun then take the same picture of the same cluster of stars 182 days later. Is the Earth's orbit large enough to see three dimensionality for our closest stars? I.e. depth?

    It allow changing the IP address of a server name dynamically - set the TTL to 60 seconds. There are some fail-over mechanisms that use this as a backup method. If you set up your own DNS servers for your domain then you only have to worry about client computers using their own cache which might be old.

    That is not a backup. It is just a more reliable disk drive. What happens of the room your RAID drive is in burns up? What if someone deliberately writes over your RAID drives? What if someone wants to go back to a version of a file from last month?

    Sorry, It might effect one's faith. Not mine. The origins of humans and their development - especially language is very facinating to me. I believe that the 5000 year estimate came from some 19th century biblical exegesis. I certainly do not believe it!

    Because they probably want more money. Its not really a pirate issue.
    Its a money issue. I paid my DSL provider more money to get
    a static IP and they could not care less about my web server. (Of
    course the 50 hits per day my server gets probably might have some influence.)
