I just backup the program folder instead of my profile. Either way it's easy to do. There's no excuse for not backing up important webmail. If I lose account access I lose no content and can immediately inform my contacts from the dead account of the change using another account.
Former avionics troop here. Given a malfunction, tech data directs appropriate troubleshooting and maintenance. If AOA sensor replacement is in the fault/troubleshooting tree, you replace that sensor. When a sensor is replaced follow-on maintenance like self tests and operational checks is required. The replacement sensor may have passed causing the techs to assume the problem was fixed, but they were ON THE GROUND. What tech data error permitted the aircrew to fly with an AOA or other malfunction? What idiot permitted the aircraft to fly after REPEATED malfunctions and on what grounds? Not every malfunction grounds an aircraft nor should they, but AOA is important enough for grounding and if in-flight verification of a fix is required or desired, a functional check flight is performed by aircrew, not "aircrew and fucking passengers".
It's easy to do suspension component replacement with mobile equipment, which is how most hobby mechanics and those pros without a lift or whose lift(s) are occupied get it done. A jack and jack stands are enough to R&I front and rear suspensions. Lifts are convenient but not a necessity.
Crash repairs etc would need a proper shop but it's so easy to "total' modern vehicles many wrecks will be written off, auctioned by Copart etc, and be salvaged for parts or repaired for resale rather than fixed and returned to the original owner.
It's not economic to return many damaged vehicles to their previous condition. OTOH auction buyers can and do buy multiple wrecks at leisure (they have storage lots) and repair their buys with donors. For example if a nose is damaged on the vehicle they wish to keep they'll try to find a donor hit in the rear. Swap parts, done. Used paintwork is often a better match for a used vehicle than new paint and a complete donor section has all the small parts one would otherwise have to purchase.
This is news because of Luddites afraid of flying and computers and tech they don't understand. The risk of aircraft crashes is trivial. The total casualties are trivial compared to other modes of transportation.
Aviation "safety" before modern systems was ghastly. Don't have too much respect for meatbags in cockpits. Some are awesome but most aren't. In WWII the US crashed nearly as many aircraft in CONUS as it lost in combat.
