Does using an enabler to get around agreeing to the EULA, but still installing the software update, violate the DMCA? I want the updates to their fragile products, but also don't need support.
Why is it that all of these companies try to change the buyer's habbits? Much akin to groceries on the web, and the original DIVX discs, these schemes too will fail.
None of these services gaurantee that I will be able to burn a disc, when I want, where I want. None of these services gaurantee that I will be able to re-rip a CD when my PC takes a chunk.
All the schemes in the world won't have a chance in hell if they keep trying to shift public habbit.
Studies have shown that people just don't want to watch iragis play baseball or basketball; let alone pay for it.
Studies have also shown that iraqis looking for food and water don't give a shit about what some snobby new yorker thinks of a bunch of paint smeared on old ass clay.
And while you're up there, don't forget that Bush is an illegal president, the CIA forced crack cocain on the minorities, and Jews are trying to take over the world!
Quick! Vegans and Greenpeace members unite! World socialism must move forward!
Larry Elder's books are both very well written. Finding books written by black scholars that don't follow the status quo for how blacks are told to think is hard, and Larry Elders is a fantastic exception.
Haven't heard of Loki Games have you? You fairly new to the Linux industry?
Also, I don't see your average Counter Strike player having much of a love affair with Linux. Probably happier on a cracked version of Windows, filling up gigs and gigs of space with warez and DOS scripts.
I know, I know. Truth hurts.

So then when they bring me to trial for downloading music from CDs that I've already purchased, they can do what?
Or this stack of cassettes that's sitting next to me? I recall paying quite a bit of money for the right to listen to this music too.
Thanks. I had a coworker that had one of the first generation standalone copiers. He hated it for the fact that he was paying for a license to write on a blank CD, but he had payed for the licenses with his home audio CDs already.
Didn't the early Philips CD recorders, you know the dual-well ones, check blank and written CDs to make sure that they were the Audio CDR type cds? Checking a bit or something that was added to the Audio CDR version CDs.
I was under the impression that they did that. Maybe this is the same way with their new machine. Kind of a wink and a nudge to the fees associated with paying extra for the Audio CD type CDRs.
You are exactly right. And all of the moaning aside, Sony/Verant has such a winning hand with the Everquest play-style. It's the 1-2hours at a time that keeps me playing. It's more fun for me than spending 1-2 hours playing UT2003 or watching TV.
I hope with the advent of EQ2, I truely do not have to lug items to different banks, and spend an hour making sure I have a high enough skill so that I don't make my sword dull, or worse yet, break. That would take the casual aspect away, and force many people to find a new game, me thinks.
I have the Sony DRU510A, and I LOVE IT!
I would recommend this drive.

Oh yes please! Because the U.S. Government is SO well known for it's projects that work the way they were intended.
Have you seen the state of public edjucation lately?
I say auto-sign everyone up.
Your sig is so lame. You are lame. A terrorist is someone who intentionally targets innocent civilians.
Moron.
When has any representative republic with an airforce ever done that?
Moron.

A - FRICKEN - MEN.
TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX
If they'd use the obscene amounts of money they already stole from me in an efficient manor, maybe they wouldn't need quite so much.
What about the fact that the government doesn't own or upkeep the internet? I mean, GODDAMN STOP TAXING ME FOR EVERYTHING!
"Sir that's perfectly good air, you didn't think it was free did you?"
If only the color hadn't burned out my cones, I'd be happy about it too.
Good luck with your new Shuttle. I love mine. Just remember two things that I overlooked in my excitement:
1. Take the plastic off of the copper shim.
2. Put the copper shim in with the correct side up. The "up" stamped into it is a little confusing, as the stamped word goes through the entire shim.
Luckily I didn't burn out my CPU, but in my haste overlooked these things.
Oh god you too. Show me the numbers that put a Museum's profit over that of an oil-riddled GDP.
Are YOU going to go do all those things? Do you even support your local museums? How much do you donate?
Boo hoo. They looted their own museum, oh well.

No kidding. It's kind of like all of you kids that used to call yourselves "hackers" and now hold security positions.
Do we always need something to worry about around here?
I'd be more concerned with the state of affairs at the U.N.
YAY. Especially since the US isn't half as bad as Canada and Mexico.
Besides the fact that no one seems to be able to anser the question of WHAT HE MAY HAVE DONE.
It's so easy for all the babies here to jump up and whine about this, maybe they should find out why they locked him up.
And in other news, all the whiners here were dismayed when the U.S. found chemical weapons in Iraq.
oops.

I just ordered the two listed in his/her sig.
Also good is "Uncivil Wars" by Horowitz
LOL! My favorite is,
"Get sauced! With Powersauce Bars! Now with more Applesaucey goodness!"
"Does not contain Applesauce."

Your last sentence sums up my thoughts on the issue quite nicely.
As with anything in life: Moderation is the key.
Maybe it will give you a window into how they feel about what he said, and if they agree or not.
Here's the thread on that server's forum.
I play. I play on your server. I also play in moderation. And it's fun.
When you take it too seriously, you get pissed, like you are now.
How you achieved your own story on Slashdot is beyond me.
