My only problem with this is that SCSI disks are far too expensive for me. I'd like to have one in my desktop, but it won't happen any time soon. I'll stick with SATA for now.
After checking Mapquest, I find you are correct. I was thinking Minneosta was farther west than it is, and where it's bordering Ontario was in fact Wisconsin. Ah well, live and learn.
That is a good idea. But I'd really like to see them make a version with source available, so I can build it on FreeBSD, or any other unixy operating system. If that happens to be a winelib compatible version, I'd still be happy.
My bad. I read "data", when you said "date". I get it now:)
Incidently, in Canada, you see both. It's not uncommon for dates to use the written month just because we see so much American and European dates that it gets to confusing for us to pick just one.
Oh yes. My Wacom tablet is A6 and from what I've seen, they seem to be calling it with some ridiculous name in America.
I have the same tablet. I'm in Canada, and it's called 4x6. Seems pretty logical to me, 4 inches by 6 inches, which is its approximate dimensions in the imperial system (It's actually 4.1x5.8, but they round).
I have a modest proposition: MS should made for pirates a "special" version of the security update: one that will disable the whole TPC/IP stack
Not funny... Insightful.. I fully support this idea. (As someone who is currently using LEGAL copies of Windows XP Pro,.Net Studio, and Windows 2000 Server.
While I agree the Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage are better on the Mac (well, Entourage is better then Outlook, it's not on PC), there is no Access.
Actually, Canadians who aren't critical of the Liberal government are allowed to accept knighthood. It's just that Jean Cretien didn't really like those two.

Well, I just built my cousin and her family a new box for Christmas, and I was going for the best computer I could build for under C$500. It uses an onboard S3 grahphics card, but has an AGP slot. Very handy.
So if you're building a light-duty server, consider a board with onboard graphics, it's not like it's going to need it's graphics card for anything more intense than displaying a desktop anyway.
Not by default. MS Office PRO is the only one that even does it at all. They did it so that it could be integrated with XML web services on a corporate network.
In Canada, that wouldn't qualify as indecent exposure. Indecent exposure requires the intent to offend. A traffic violation isn't a crime, so he only gets 3 summary offences against him.
But there is a chance MS will use the longhorn API by then, and maybe even say C# - so they can be platform independent. Remember, C# is portable bytecode like Java.
Actually, all.Net code is compiled to MSIL bytecode (MSIL = MicroSoft Intermediate Language), not just C#. My C++ code can use the.Net API and be just as portable as C#, or Visual Basic..Net can even be downloaded for Win2K and XP, as well as 98 and ME.
It compiles everything using the same format, so C++, C#, and VB can all instantiate the same objects, and use their methods. It's really quite a good system, even though it did come from MS.
The company I work for uses an old DOS based database system for inventory, running on Windows 98. We can't upgrade to 2000 or XP because they don't emulate DOS well enough.

Um... 8 MB of hard drive space would hardly be enough to run Windows XP.
Yes. That's hardly enough to run DOS!

Old school Manitobins (known as "tobins") say "aboot". Actually its somewhere between "a boot" and "a boat"
Point of interest for the Americans who were saying that Minnesota people say "aboot":
Manitoba is due north of Minnesota. In fact, it is the only Canadian province to border Minnesota.

(complete with the date typed back to front)
What do you mean by the data being typed back to front?

Remember that in this politically correct world, anything that sounds even remotely like it could concievably be racist, must be racist.
It's just the way it works now.

Give me Access damn it!

Because most of the time there's one good song per CD of 10-20 tracks. One song is not worth $15, so people download it.
Microsoft Word 2003 stores its documents in XML.

At my school, this bit of grafitti was found outside the physics building:
"Heisenberg probably rules"
Okay, so it is lame... made me laugh.
Certainly no less violent than what they'd experience running down the streets of any Iraqi village.
Your son can't hit a reset button to undo the damage done in an Iraqi village.

Tadpole has UltraSparc laptops that run Solaris, they've been around for a while. There were also DEC Alpha laptops for a whole.
Did a Macintosh bite you when you were a child?

Won't matter. You still need Apple hardware hooks to get it going.
Something tells me that it won't run Apple's operating system. It should only work on Macs.
You probably would, but we wouldn't mind. That would mean that California and Washington would stop leeching power from BC.
