  1. It's those same "rules and regulations" (yes, pushed by the left) that attempts to guarantee clean water, clean air, and safe place to live. Without those "job killing regulations" we see time and time again "capitalism" completely destroy the environment, lives, our way of life, and rights, just so those in charge with power can get more power and money,. Don't blame "rules" on the left when the right would happily kill everyone for a dollar. What happened to the GOP being stewards of the budget - as soon as they get a President, the budget deficit skyrockets fed by gimmies to the rich. Look at Wisconsin, Scott Walkers failed deal with Foxconn. Look at Kansas, the GOP slashed taxes and regulations and ultimately devastated the budget. Even the Patriarch of Trickle Down Economics, Ronald Reagan, had to raise taxes 11 times in his 2 terms because his VooDoo economics was such a failure.

The reason - all the profits are going to the oligarchy. And it's a global phenomena.

It's a right in this Country (the US) to unionize... the US is getting close to critical mass, closer toward a social revolt.. Capitalism has failed. The middle class has had no increase in buying power since the 1980's. In-fact every single technological advancement and efficiency gained through automation, technology, the internet, etc, have only benefited the owner class, the Oligarchy, aka "the donnor class". It's how a minority continue to win elections. The GOP has NOT won a 1st term POTUS since Bush 1 - 30 years ago. Both GOP Presidents since (Bush 2 & Lord Trumpkin) LOST popular vote via gerrymandering and legal maneuvering. Meanwhile the GOP is busy shoving Federal Judges into place to change laws in their favor, despite being against the will of the people
This 30 year or entire generation where the elite suck all the resources out of society result in ever decreasing workers benefits, (healthcare costs skyrocket, pensions are but a distant memory), schools and first responders go underfunded, infrastructure crumbles.
The former youth as they reach middle age, worry about being cast aside because they don't want to drive 4 hours to work or want to spend time with their kids. These workers have awoken, realized they won't be the next Zuckerberg, or Arod.. no, realty is cruel, and if your name isn't over the door you're nothing more than an expendable commodity - yet your servitude pays to change laws that take away your rights in favor of your overlords...
    The truth is awakening.

  7. Inslee's State, Washington, tolls interstate roads with "pay to play" lanes. The option was voted in IF it would
    1- raise $17m
2- AND maintain minimum speeds on the other lanes at a minimum of 45 MPH
The result raised $31M and brought the other lanes (on the I405) to a complete crawl, yet, unshockingly, the state refuses to undue the debacle it created (even after it fired the engineer who designed it). More and more roads are being tolled as the State hands out more gimmies to homeless, mentally ill, drug users - it pushes free needles for heroin users and wants to have open "safe injection sites" staffed by doctors.

  8. from a pure "sustainability" perspective, it takes far more energy to lift off the ground vertically and fly then any rolling vehicle.
secondly " high passenger occupancy " aka "buses" use less energy per occupant - when full - then single owner vehicles. Obviously this is true no matter if the "bus" rolls or flies , the more occupants, the better.
It seems the study, likely commissioned to push "Detroit", as an agenda also pushed by Detroit.
Just imagine what would happen if a City owned flying "bus" malfunctioned and crashed killing 50+ people on the bus, and 100 more on the City Street it crashed into. Flights would end instantly and permanently. Flying "cars", "buses" or personal transporters are pure fantasy as daily urban commuters for the common folk.

Either the police actively will work a crime or they won't. Apparently personal property crime has become such a banality, law enforcement have abdicated their responsibilities. We as citizens shrug with little recourse other than conscientious objectors, must accept the fact the US is one step from anarchy.
This reminds me of the early 1970s when crime was so bad all the cops could do was recommend you get a gun to protect yourself.

Quite the contrary - You seem to not realize that ethics is determined by your group affiliation. For example, cannibalism is completely ethical (and expected) if you're an Aghori Monk in Varanasi, India. Or using your own example (BTW, I was born in Chicago), if you were a member of a Chicago gang, violence is not only common place but ethical. It really doesn't matter how outsiders judge you, you live by your own group. I'm willing to bet many things you do today will be judged unethical in 100 or 200 years.. driving a gas powered vehicle, living in a single family home, eating meat - all these things may be incredibly unethical in the eyes of future generations.
