HP can pay back the Canadian DND in songs and coffee. $160 million...now that is a lot of beans.
Either that or the military will fly a Sea King helicopter over their headquarters (Canadians will find that last bit funny).
Well speaking as someone who experiences this everyday I'd say they need a mentor or some role model to explain how socializing works. When someone says "hi" you say "hi" back, and smiling helps too. They may not know this, it sounds like they should know how to act but maybe they never learned. There is a time limit. I always think of it like those children who were abused and locked up by thier parents. They never learned to speak and by the time they were rescued it was too late because thier brains couldn't handle speech.
BTW you don't have to be super smart to be shy, I think that glamorizes it and makes a happy ending. What if you were just of average intelligence, would someone want to help someone like that?
A new word should be invented instead of "shy" it is so common it's lost all meaning. It doesn't even hint at the incredible pain experienced by people who suffer it.
lmao I did. I just scrolled down to see if anyone did also.
I was watching a show about Paul Moller, the flying car guy, a few nights ago maybe I still had that on my brain.
( For future reference: See I do look before posting ).
Wow scary stuff.
So now we have flying autonomous helicopters and the maker of the Segway wants to make battle-bots.
I bet the ASIMO could be used as a robotoic soldier too, wouldn't that freak out an army when they see hundreds of robots marching towards them! They'd have to make sure their light sabers are...oh wait am I hallucinating again?
Arnold becomes Governor and look what happens!
I don't believe it! I didn't know a Toshiba hard drive was in the iPod. I was thinking of buying an iPod but after being suckered into thinking the Toshiba e740 PDA was worth buying I'll have to seriously think about that iPod now. I have never in my life come across such a piece of crap, as the e740, and such poor service from a company!
I have solved the problem.
People on the ISS should order nothing but pizza, it solves the storage problem;hot or cold, the quality problem, the crumb problem...it's gold baby!
And as a bonus since most pizza chains don't have their own rocket program it'll take more than 30 minutes to deliver it, so the food is free!
PS Maybe the ISS crew member from the US should have had that Turkey and Gravy flavoured pop from Seattle. Un-carbonated though.
I remember hearing years ago about a company (in Toronto I think) that radio stations hired to track who was listening to their stations. The company tracked the leakage of a car's FM radio. If the radio was on a station it leaked that station, so they could tell how many people listened and when they switched off or to another station.
Yeah I have a question.
What about the Al Qaeda "combatents" in Guantonimo Bay? Should they be sent back to Afghanistan to stand trial because they are being held illegally by the US?:P
I love that show, it makes me laugh.
Aaaaa ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha...Ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha..ha ha ha..Ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha...ha ha ha..ha ha...ah
Most new users migrating from Windows will have a WinModem and it's incredibly frustrating, not knowing your way around, trying to get your WinModem working (if possible) as a new user.
I see Mandrake 9.2 doesn't support a lot of modems (according to it's hardware database page.) Certainly not a way to attract new Windows users to Linux.
Linux with deep Internet roots and having it running on a box that can't access it is ironic, but it is the best choice for the new Linux user.
Well a better idea would be to make products more efficient if possible. Electronics today are like a 1970's gas guzzler car, don't put a bigger gas tank on it, make a better engine.
Or if that isotope-doped halfnium idea ever gets developed for batteries instead of pencil-sized bunker busters that would be good too:P

Hey kidlinux as a fellow Canadian...what about what we were taught in school? Don't you remember taking political science in high school or even other classes later on where we were told that the US would likely take our water. It was just hypothetical but I could see it happening either (rare)by force or (more likely)through strong political pressure. *cough*freetrade*cough*
Actually I just got rid of my old floppy drive today, doing a bit of internal dusting and thought "I don't need that!"...and now that I see it mentioned, my power cord is also from the same six year old system the floppy came from. I also removed a SCSI card that I had to use, it was for my gigantic HP 4c colour flatbed scanner($1,700 new!) It's for sale btw.
Hmm maybe I should have put my old floppies onto a DVD with my new DVD burner...then again they were supposed to go onto CD-ROMs when I got that:-P...maybe someday.

But isn't the iPod really a computing/storeage device anyway that happens to play music? Wasn't there a story a while back about some guy using it to steal software from iMacs on display in a store.
I agree though it's nothing more than greed. Same as music companies forcing the cost of CD-R's to go higher since they may be used to store music, when they could hold either music or data.
Yeah when Brian Greene's book The Elegant Universe came out I ran right out and got it. I tried to tell everyone here about it but no one seemed interested:( It explains everything so well yet it stays technical, it starts off simple and gets more complex as you continue to read. Great book!
Western?

I heard of people in the US that are sick or injured and go to a doctor and the have to pay money. HAVE TO PAY MONEY.
I'm glad I live in Canada, I can get an x-ray and not worry about eating for the next week after paying the bill.
In Canada a homeless person can walk in and get an x-ray. I pity any poor or low income person in the US that needs mendical attention.
Health care shouldn't be commerce it should be a Human Right.
Simson Garfinkel?

Love their music!
