The developer's site clearly states that the fans cannot be set below Apple's default minimum. Is this not enough to save from the doomsday scenario you describe?
maybe they'll be adding a tie-in with Dance Dance Revolution for the Playstation 2, for the Adult Happy Meals? That would counteract the calories a little better.
seems that it is mostly the support jobs going to India, from what I've seen. And the Indians I know that have come here (so not taking your job by outsourcing, technically) most certainly did have the time and inclination to learn graduate level mathematics and are good at it. Face it, the US is no longer top notch by far in science and math. I'm pretty sure there was even an article to that effect here. I'm not disagreeing that the low-level web work you so smugly stare down your nose at isn't as wonderfully brilliant as work for someone with higher-level math skills. That goes without saying (though you've wasted many more words than necessary saying it, just so you can insult that portion of Slashdotters who do this for a living - not me, but I'm sure someone who does it thinks you are a total asshat about it). yeah I find it best to support the local Korean grocer when in NYC. Aside from the occasional outbreak of gunfire, those local places rock. And none of their products are cheap and foreign. Although I guess it is different to buy expensive foreign goods that may or may not be made in a sweatshop at some froofy local shop for 1000% markup.

I'd say the answer to your last question is: BOTH. I am sure I am not the only one who does sit and play Frogger quite a few times more than I'd like to admit. But I also enjoy some of the cutting-edge fare that is available today. I think there is an audience for this but also think there are many who enjoy things just because it can be done.

But there is just something extra (they "creative juices" and "unique style" you mention) that transcends music's mathematical base. Such is the case with writing. People may churn out derivative books/essays/etc but there are still authors out there that add their unique touch to their work.
to start the trend early.. if you were watching a DVD of that awful performance (and wardrobe malfunction) of Janet Jackson would it have captured and censored it? Probably not.
I will also note that while Google claims that one of their corporate policies is "don't be evil", they also absolutely refuse to discuss or explain almost any facet of their operations. Just a thought.
I'm not the biggest MS-basher by a long shot and even I felt it necessary to try to find out who forced them to do this. Didn't find anything, though. Can't believe this wouldn't have been court-ordered, but doesn't appear so!
yes, not everything needs that level of complexity. On the one hand, you don't cook a meal and throw away the pots and pans, but you also know that this isn't a meal that has to feed you for the rest of your life. Some things are utilitarian in nature and short-lived. Program accordingly.
or some CSS work, so it is still up-to-date when using tables to format everything is finally put to rest.
But maybe Flash is just what he knows best, and other versions could follow if it becomes more popular. Can't please everybody with your proof of concept work.

this is also a good way to find out that, outside of the heat of the moment, the concert wasn't as good as you thought it was.
