Lieberman wasn't a democrat since he lost the party nomination to Ned Lamont in 2006. Since then, he endorsed John McCain and voted against Obama's policies.

  2. Lieberman, king of Double Standards on Senator Wants 'Terrorist' Label On Blogs · · Score: 1

If Lieberman is so upset about Terrorist Content, has he seen the islamophobic drek that's rapidly growing in the US?

Last year, WordPress.com deleted a blog after CAIR complained that it contained posts that advocated burning mosques, making false bomb threats implicating Muslims, desecrating Muslim graves, and that recommended the “proper way to shoot a muslim [sic].”

Again, they're asking Wordpress to suspend the popular hate site Bare naked Islam. I love free speech, but this is one of those sites that inspires future Anders Breviks. It routinely calls to violence against American Muslims and supports desecrating mosques. “I want [Muslim] blood on my hands as a matter of principle” was one of their tamer comments I can post.

I haven't seen Jose Pimentel's blog, but I'm sure it's tamer than hate sites like these that are flourishing.

I'm skeptical it's Bin Laden's. I can't find the story now, but there were recordings of Al Qaeda leaders watching Al Jazeera, and then covering over the screen whenever an "immodestly-dressed" woman anchor came on.

When China starts taking sides in the Middle East and giving one side weapons and money, then I'll complain.

Bin Laden was a creep through and through (and as a Muslim I think he worked very hard at disgracing Islam worldwide), but he did say "contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom. Let him tell us why we did not strike Sweden, for example." That's because Europe didn't have soldiers in Saudi Arabia and wasn't helping prop up the dictators in the region.

Now that the dictators are starting to fall in the Middle East, a new Bin Laden is far less likely to spring up...

  9. As a Muslim on Osama Bin Laden Reported Dead, Body In US Hands · · Score: 3, Insightful

I am a Muslim, and I'm so happy they finally nailed this creep.
He's killed thousands of Americans, including many Muslims in my community who worked in lower Manhattan. 9/11 even destroyed the local mosque at the Towers.

Bin Laden was never a Muslim leader, back in the 1990s Muslim leaders spoke out against him and called for his capture, after his involvement in bombing of US embassies. Even his "spiritual leader" told the press that Bin Laden is not qualified to speak for Islam and he had no training to make rulings or give fatwas.

God's gonna judge him, and I hope He gives Bin Laden what he deserves, for the misery he's put Muslims worldwide through, and for disgracing Islam and the millions of peaceful patriotic law-abiding American Muslims.

Easy. The data is stored on a phone only I use, and is synced to a Mac only I use. If the government really wanted to figure out where I was going, they'd subpoena my credit card records and look at the previous destinations on my car GPS. I don't hear anyone complaining how Garmin stores that recent data too.

That's also an untenable position. Considering the flack that google is getting for allowing malware on Android and the problems Nokia had with viruses on their phones, they have to have some sort of quality control for apps. Also, certain countries like Germany(?) may not allow iPhones and other devices if they don't have some sort of parental restrictions or block illegal/pirate apps

  15. Pick a side! on Senators To Apple: Pull iPhone DUI-Check Alerts · · Score: 0

Apple can never win and please everybody, especially not the /. crowd. There have been dozens of "Apple rejects X" stories ever since the App Store launched in 2008. Apple rejects the anti-gay-marriage "Manhattan Declaration" app and gets protests and boycott threats from the Right for denying free speech. Apple approves the Exodus International app (run by a church that thinks homosexuality can be cured), and gets huge petitions (90,000 signers last I saw) and complaints from the Left.

Even the slashdotters are schizophrenic over this matter. "Apple should ban 'Baby Shaker,'" or "why did Apple remove iBoobs?" Can we please be consistent?

I'm still mystified by how much neocons despise the channel. No wonder Bush planned to bomb Al Jazeera, he was so quick to jump onto the false notion. Never mind that Al Qaeda hates Al Jazeera and has done so for years (AQ supporters call it "Al-Khinzeera," which means The Pig)
