Oddly enough the military loves morals and ethics classes for their officers, as well as basic logic classes. If anything Philosophy would be highthened. ^_^
Of course the morals and ethics they tend to get into tend to be justifications of their jobs. And as Sept 11 showed, it is sometimes difficult to have an intelligent conversation with a man bent on trying to kill or destroy you.
That said, Legal documents tend to have a monopoly on dry reading. To make a license perfectly clear will often required some sort of definitions. You can have a fairly simple concept, but when you go into the legal details, you can wind up with all kinds of extra verbiage, which makes people nervous about the whole thing, and then, at best, they will tend to bail out of the document.
There probably is a way to do this, although a lot of folks freak on anything too long.
I'm sorry but if I'm not waiting in line for this movie, I'd just be playing solitairre at work.
It will likely be a slow day at work anyhow, what with all the IT types out of the building.
Or maybe the lone clueless guy left holding the fort in tech support will have to handle all the calls usually reserved for the whole department.
On the other hand, it is not like you couldn't arrange some vacation time or a personal day or something. I would think it would be worth it.

Great, now I'm going to have nightmares about being chased down supermarket aisles by a box of Cherrios shrieking "Buyyyy Meeeee!"

Since this stuff can be embedded into fabric, obviously you can have T-shirts, etc. Obviously, You know someone will add wireless capability for continous updates, etc.
The free car program where you get a free car because it has Advertising on it can now have cars that are updated monthly.
The visual equivalent of pop-up ads everywhere, as you drive or walk down the street.
Then add in your occasional prankster. Your room mate configures the back of your jacket to display pr0n as you walk down the street.
And we call this progress. just a simple extrapolation of the spammer mentality to the use of the new media forms
With sdvances like this and things like electric ink, and all, I can imagine a day when all this stuff is used on product packaging in stores
Imagine walking down a supermarket lane with your cart, with all of the cans and boxes waving at you, with their tiny voices in chorus saying "Buy Me!", "Don't listen to that brand, Buy me instead!".
just the pressure from the kids would be enough to be insane. "Can we get this one mom?"
I routinely use this. Often I will have someone ask me if I have a copy of Office I can load on their system. I'll give them this instead.
It avoids the piracy issue, promotes open source, and avoids another Microsoft Tax.

Just need to go through the application and set the defaults from Metric to English, changed the default fonts to arial and times roman instead of the default Thorndale, etc. just for document compatibility. Also set the document save default to MS , since most folks will get caught by surprise otherwise first time they try to share a doc.
I sort of was suspicious that Hollings, the man who would give us the SSSSSSSSSSSCA (how ever many S's that is) would suddenly introduce a bill that would make sense to technologists.
So I'm feeling redeemed that someone found a "gotcha" in the fine print of the new bill.

It is very much like going someplace while low on gas, and being told that there is not enough time to stop and get gas.

At that rate, they'll be typing for the next six months. [...] Well, Renshaw said, training should take no more than a few hours. "You can learn the entire system in two or three days at most."
When interviewing Nintendo's U.S president Minoru Arakawa, he let slip that Nintendo 'weren't sure what to think when Microsoft made the offer.'' He continued with the commments "I was surprised, we didn't need the money. I thought it was a joke."
I see a problem with cost. Proper disposal of a computer in the United States normally costs between $5 and $10, compared to $1 or less in third-world countries.
I would have thought that an old LCD panel or something would have been more usable in the case vs a nine inch monitor, which is a very rare bird indeed.
quick search on google only finds 9 inch monitors in monochrome, and ten inch color. He uses a ViewMagic, which currently only shows a 10" color available as new product.
The reality is that there's nothing natural about intellectual "property" -- it's a convenient fiction created by society and enforced by the government.
This is all very well and good, until you, as a small businessman, get ripped off by a large company that comes in and steals your ideas.
good workable ideas are the lifeblood of business, and are highly protected.

They'll probably hook up with an ISP in Asia someplace, where people haven't figured out the details about spam yet.

Sadly, the bandwidth is so hogged, that the download is going ar dialup speeds, even on a decent DSL line (3.5kb! Doh! it just dropped to 2.2kb)
Not that I can remeber the product, 'cause I don't.
