Next we look at what a copyright owner is. Must the holder be human? Where is that defined? Now we move on to the comparative aspects of non-human copyright.
I'd like to point out that many patents are held by corporations. Last time I checked those were not human.
I Know he was in G.I. Joe... As Destro according to IMDB... never actually watched that movie, but my wife always said "He's so hot" when we walked past the poster at the theater
Also he was the invisible guy in the first season of heroes
Tennessee's laws state that in prosecuting the offense of sexual exploitation of a minor, "the state is not required to prove the actual identity or age of the minor."
I wonder if that's been tested. It sounds scary, in that it assumes the "minor" part.
The wrinkley grey haired woman was wearing a diaper, it's child pornography! We don't care that she's in the court room in a hoverround as a defense witness
While I don't doubt that these people are having fun playing WoW and all that, but I need to ask... isn't going just a little too far to get corporate sponsorship for a game guild?
But the gold farmers are raising their exchange rates, you need sponsors so you can buy teh goldz!
Sounds like a reasonable judge. Taking the defendant's computer would deprive them of it for a long period of time, whereas taking a copy of it's data only deprives them of it for a short time.
It also forces the person making the copy into pirating the Operating system and every bit of software on the computer. I'd say the RIAA can copy my hard drive all it wants, but I'd be informing Microsoft that there's a juicy target out there making copies of it's warez.:)
Several other companies found ways to defeat the lockout chip without using any proprietary information and Nintendo couldn't shut them down (IIRC Nintendo tried to shut down Color Dreams and failed)
But the protection schemes on modern game consoles are far more sophisticated than that of the original NES, often involving digital signatures. It would probably take more capital to understand and defeat them than to just start a company selling gaming HTPCs.
But wouldn't circumventing a protection scheme (especially for commercial gain) be breaking the DMCA. Or could a company at least wave that over a developer's head to persuade them to stop? I'm sure the console makers could definitely convince some judge somewhere that once someone can run their own code on a console, then they can run any code on the console, including pirated software.
I've read through the article twice now, and I have absolutely no idea what this all is about. Is the Cube some kind of treasure hunt, a fountain of youth, a cult?
Singularity "education" inflicts a dog brain upon Students - ability to be taught servitude - but an inability to ever think opposite of brainwashing and indoctrination - very unlikely to ever recover to acknowledge Nature's Harmonic Simultaneous Rotating 4 Corner 24 Hr. Days in 1 Earth Rotation.
But I just fail to see how you can make the world better by sitting on your ass playing WoW 12 hours a day.
But just imagine the random acts of stupid/evil they would commit if they had those 12 hours free driving around in their hummers clubbing baby seals in darfur while wirelessly hacking bank accounts to transfer money to north korea to buy nukes to give the terrorists to kill endangered rain forests... Sounds like a fun weekend to me
It makes me sick to think that there are people like you out there who would gladly see America cave in and pretend there's nothing out there going bump in the night.
So do you get out of bed, grab your gun and go check everytime a car drives down the street, a dog barks on the block, or one of your children bumps into something heading for the bathroom? Of course things go bump in the night, you have to use some commong sense To determine which bumps need a responce, a magnetic litebrite shouldn't trigger a million dollar security crisis. TFA was the first time I saw a picture of the device up close and as a non-expert in explosives, it looks too thin to have explosives inside, or to have an inside
Any post that is anti-diligence or anti-keep America safe gets high points
Personally I'm more for anti-let's-not-be-dicks-and-make-people-want-to-9- 11-us.
(A) To be effective under this subsection, a notification of claimed infringement must be a written communication provided to the designated agent of a service provider that includes substantially the following:
...
(ii) Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site.
(iii) Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material.
...
(v) A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
(vi) A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
for anyone who doesn't feel like searching through the mess.
It looks like they [Viacom/the representative] has to provide an identification of both the allegedly infringing work (the adress on YouTube) and the allegedly infringed work (I can't think of anything since I haven't touched Irrlicht in more than a year so I don't think my tutorial 5 is the same)
And those residents need their porn. And lots of it!
It's not like they can go outside and not freeze to death or anything

At the end of the movie we find out it's an alien pilot defending his world from.... Humans!
Bitcoin is a "thing" not a brand and so it should not be eligible for trademark any more than "web browser" would be.
Well, i doubt anyone has trademaked the term Dollar.... I'll be right back....
No no, the last words heard were: "Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!!!!"
Kirk: No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.
Of course it would be cool to see some of the potential applications make their way back into Dr. Who.
ex. the Doctor using his screwdriver as an ultrasonic welder.
Well in Empty Child/The Doctor Dances he uses the screwdriver to cut a chainlink fence and then has Rose use it to reconnect the cut fence

I'm laughing, even if this wasn't a joke.
I think he's playing John Lennon in some hbo or showtime special about Him and Yoko.

I agree totally, we must join together in our effort to protect barrens chat from Little Johnny!
Light bright?
In my day we only had twine.
And no one had invented language yet either!
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos

While failing to do things and learn afterwards is called masturbation?
I'd hope to at least get a song out of Boston before they were laughed out of the court room
But just imagine the random acts of stupid/evil they would commit if they had those 12 hours free

But it's boston... they don't have 2 brain cells between the guys calling the shots.
Do you think a jury would have been able to look at the device and not laugh boston out of court for over-reacting?
